In the summer of 1996 I bought a CD called In Order To Dance 5.
The music was intriguing to say the least. It was an introduction to all kinds of techno, from experimental, hard or minimal, to soulful and warm.
One of the tracks that stood out for me was Mengs Theme by Point Blank AKA Secret Cinema. It was a 7,5 minute intense musical trip with overwhelming repetitive melodies and hunting percussion.
Mengs Theme remained one of my very favorite tracks since that summer.
Re-releasing it on Green with my own remix is nothing but a big honour.

Label boss Secret Cinema returns on Gem Records to re-release the first ever Secret Cinema track: Timeless Altitude. The re-release is part of the SILVER project celebrating Secret Cinema’s 25 years in music and comes with a brand new Heiko Laux remix. The EP is ready to hit digital stores on April 21st. A total of nine Secret Cinema classics will be re-released with remixes both digital and vinyl as part of the box set SILVER.

The Dutch producer had been making music under several aliases since 1991 and already had a number of worldwide club classics to his name. But in 1994 he spawned his most powerful persona: Secret Cinema. His studio was still in his mother’s house where he made the track sitting on the side of his bed as there was no space for a chair between the bed and the equipment. 

The EP went on to sell over 25.000 copies and even made its way into the overall top 10 in Belgian charts. It was an absolute anthem played by everyone across the globe including the likes of Cox and Väth. He did not know at the time how Timeless the track would be as it is still stands its ground today.

Heiko Laux took on the heavy task of remixing the classic and did a simply amazing job. The result is one of the most epic pieces of techno in the Gem Records catalogue to date. After being released on vinyl as part of the SILVER box it now hits the digital stores for the very first time. 

The Silver box set is limited to 500 pcs, numbered and signed by hand. A real collector’s item and a luxury boxset never seen for an electronic artist. SILVER contains a customized USB stick with all productions ever made by Secret Cinema. Also included are three vinyls with all new remixes, A CD with 4 live sets from the past 3 decades, a greatest hits CD, a new documentary about Secret Cinema (with Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Michel de Hey, Benny Rodrigues) the animation film Barcode from 2003, artwork and photo’s, and to top it all off: a floppy disk with all the samples from Sonar System (1991) like the one Verheij used in his Amiga 500. 

Unlike most legends, Verheij has his eye on the future and prefers to develop rather than look back. It’s a good thing Gem Records and Mary Go Wild decided to document Secret Cinema so far…

A testament to the growth of Adam Beyer’s scene-leading label, Drumcode annual A-Sides Vol.8 is the brand’s
biggest yet.

The 25-track strong compilation features standout cuts Beyer has received over the last 12 months, but been unable to
find room for in Drumcode’s regular release schedule, such is the volume and high standard of music that’s submitted.
The highlight-rich compilation includes Jamie Jones & Darius Syrossian’s buzzy Drumcode debut ‘Eyes of the Night’,
Nicole Moudaber’s first DC release in 5 years with the mesmerizing ‘This Is Us’, Will Clarke’s bass-drenched re-work
of Adam Beyer & Bart Skils ‘Your Mind’ and Joey Beltram’s first Drumcode release in 11 years with the retro-tinged
‘Can You Feel It’.

The beloved Alan Fitzpatrick returns to the fold with the searing ‘Heiße Rakete’, alongside label mainstays Layton
Giordani, who drops the stirring chord-driven ‘Chrome’ and Wehbba with ‘Mantra’, combining techno classicism with
future-focused groove.

There’s a troupe of debutants donning the Drumcode jersey for the first time, including BEC, Shelley Johannson,

Exciting young guns Weska and Juliet Fox bring heat to the compilation, while Veerus and Timmo follow up strong
