For their third release, Secret Music are proud to present a collaboration between Stephane Lefrancois and Antonio Motta, Omenetti.

The pair got acquainted over a MachineDrum a few years ago, and have since then written and jammed together, using only hardware.  
Many sessions later, they are now ready to unleash their simple yet groovy blend of techno and house.

How It Could Be is a mellow house groove, with ghostly vocal snippets.  It is supplemented by a thriving, driving kick and tom combo, and Antonio's signature melodies.  It's a perfect track for warming up the dance floor, and getting a classy, deep party vibe going.

Temporarily Suspended is a relentless techno track.  It was written a few years ago, but got revisited recently, and became even more driving than its previous incarnation.  The beat is busy and always evolving, the sounds are crisp and punchy, and subtle melodies poke through.  It's a great track to mix with, as it adds a strong layer of excitement and forward movement.

Both tracks were written, produced and recorded on hardware only.  Gear used :  Elektron Octatrack and MachineDrum, Waldorf Blofeld, DSI Tempest.

Omenetti - Temporarily Suspended   (feat. Stephane Lefrancois & Antonio Motta)

For Secret Music’s eleventh release, we are proud to present the debut EP for S.E.T. - a  collaborative project between Stephane Lefrancois, Elle Holgate and Tariq Ibrahim (aka S L F, E11E and Bazaar) in which the threesome take techno into the realm of the esoterica and enlightenment.

The Portal is a cinematic journey through space and out of time. Elle’s mysterious vocals provide the metaphysical doorway into layers of tribal, live drums, an evocatively deep bass line, driving, oscillating synths and an existential message. A soundtrack to a soaring psychedelic trip into oneself, this track captures the zeitgeist for intelligent and musical electronic music. ‘Esoteric Techno’ that not only makes your body move, it elevates the mind.

Jameson Gilvarry’s remix anchors the original into a solid, grounding 4 on the floor feel, with a syncopated rhythm, deeper bass line and recurring, ambient guitar licks.  The vocals swirl around in this off-the-cuff arrangement, while rounded synths poke out from the ether.

Into The Light is a deep, groovy house track featuring Elle’s signature vocals, both engaging and evocative.  This one’s an enigmatic and sexy groover, with subtle melodies set to a straightforward beat, solid bass line and atmospheric layers to lose yourself in. ‘One light, two bodies and a third eye’ Into The Light hints at S.E.T.’s subliminal recurring themes of psychedelic hedonism, metaphysical journeys and spiritual ascension through dance music. 

S L F’s Afro Mix turns the original into an infectious dance floor monster, with syncopated drums backed up by a classic house beat, an ear catching bass line and vocal loops riding throughout.  This classic S L F remix takes Into The Light into tribal territory, known to transport dance-floors to new dimensions of abandon and frenzied dancing.

S.E.T. - The Portal (feat. S L F, E11E & Bazaar)

For our first release of 2017, we are proud to present the second EP for S.E.T. - a collaborative project between Stephane Lefrancois, Elle Holgate and Tariq Ibrahim (aka S L F, E11E and Bazaar) in which the threesome continue their genre defying blend of dance - floor electronica and deep, suggestive storytelling.

“You’re Not Leaving” is an afro tinged, syncopated groover, with organic drums and layered percussion, carried by a hypnotic synth arpeggio.  Elle’s floaty, deep vocals and mysterious words, hypnotise you to stay a little bit longer.

Carlota Marques’ take on the opening track is a minimalistic, bass heavy techno masterpiece, where subtle layers weave in and out of the solid, grounded low end.  Reversed, eerie vocal snippets hint at the original version, while evolving modular loops make the journey a deeply absorbing, fascinating maze to get lost in. A dream to never leave. 

Bas Ibellini’s devilishly catchy remix expands the original into a deep and delicious odyssey through mysterious techno landscapes. Set to an ever unfolding groove emerges a hypnotic, brooding bass line progressing into spaced out riffs. Bubbly synths provide another deep hook and tripped out echoes of the vocals complete your journey into never leaving ecstasy. Cancel your taxi, you’re not leaving once this plays.

“Another Slice Of You” is a groovy floor filler revolving around a relentlessly funky bass line and classic drum machine beats that echo of dance floors calling you to stay. Twisted modular melodies accentuate the sultry message. Featuring guest vocals from S.E.T. and Secret Music muse Fenja Ifigenia, the track explores the juxtaposition of a robotic, mechanical tone, with its sensually charged suggestion. I really think you should stay.

Francesco Mami’s remix of “Another Slice Of You” is a straightforward, driving, percussive and supremely infectious techno groove.  The vocals are dubbed out and trippy, while synth hits propel this beast forward in an unforgiving, dance floor friendly fashion.  

S.E.T.’s sound is defined by their freeform approach to songwriting and explorations into the heart of electronic music. Tracks begin as loose jams, and evolve into multi - layered arrangements of hooks, melodies and rhythms harvested from a vast collection of analog drum machines, modular synthesizers and organic recordings in their Berlin, London and Paris studios.
