Having previously released three critically acclaimed Secretsundaze mix comps, DANCE 2017 is the first label compilation, representing an exciting new chapter for the label. The artwork and name 'DANCE 2017' is a reference to the feel of pioneering late 80s and early 90s house and techno compilations. The comp is delivered in a non-mixed format as well as a mixed format, with the duo mixing it live at The Pickle Factory, where the pair hold their monthly Secretsundaze - All Night Long residency, playing 8 hour sets each month.

Secretsundaze is the trademark of forward-thinking, underground house music. As an artist and brand – spanning parties and festivals, a record label, a studio, an NTS residency and a live band project – it’s been operating for over 20 years and embodies the spirit and community of London’s club culture. But it’s never been one to sit still or rest on its laurels; leave that to the nostalgia crew because Secretsundaze always keeps it moving. 

Take this year, 2024, as an example. Right now Secretsundaze is stepping out as an artist proposition in its own right, helmed by producer/DJ/curator James Priestley who’s currently packing a stack of club tracks that will drop across the year and establish the project as a hit factory for DJs and dancers searching for a fresh take on house music that draws on breakbeat energy and trancey euphoria. Priestley is known to take the roof off as a DJ and now he’s adding to his arsenal with sought-after solo productions of his own under the Secretsundaze name. 

As a tastemaker, Secretsundaze sits at the cutting-edge, bringing new heads into the fold and always looking to champion new talent. His NTS residency, which has seen MoMa Ready, Paquita Gordon and Alex Kassian guest recently, is a reflection of the project’s current dancefloor obsessions. The meticulous curation of the Secretsundaze presents parties and Multi Multi festival, renowned for featuring talents such as Ash Lauryn and Carista long before they gained widespread recognition and uniting visionary artists like Toumba, Tash LC and NIKS under a single roof, serves as a compelling testament to Secretsundaze’s commitment in celebrating new artists.

Now for some history: 2022 saw the launch of Spirit Of Sundaze Ensemble, a full live band project that reimagines anthems beloved of those in the know, recording and performing cult bangers like Photek’s ‘Mine To Give’ and Joyce Sims’ ‘Come Into My Life’. The band has already graced the stages of the Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) and the ICA as well as Beat Hotel and Kala festivals, with a debut LP set for release later this year.

This duality of cutting-edge and classic is what makes Secretsundaze so special. Priestley originally cut his teeth as a d’n’b DJ and a promoter of not-so-legal warehouse parties before becoming an annual resident at the legendary Robert Johnson and landing gigs at Panorama Bar and Queen at Smart Bar, which is the kind of gigography that many selectors would happily settle for. But Priestley’s love of underground club culture has propelled him even further and Secretsundaze is now two decades deep, a pillar of London culture that has poured blood, sweat and tears into the city’s music community. 

Secretsundaze begins 2024 as a solo venture with Priestley at the helm, navigating an ever-expanding musical universe that unearths and re-engages with different styles, genres and music scene via parties, live shows, productions, radio and even a new record label.

Charlie Price is a 21 Year Old House & Disco DJ based here in London.
Having originally starting all the way down in beautiful Cornwall, Charlie’s ambitions have taken him further than expected!

Charlie started to DJ back in late 2019. It wasn’t until the first Covid Lockdown happened, where Charlie decided to hop over to Twitch and join DJ’s who were streaming at the time such as: The Shapeshfters, Sam Divine, Jellybean Benitez, Defected Records and many more!
Charlie took it into his own hands and decide he wanted to do the same and he did!
He built up a small community on his own twitch channel and would regularly DJ for that community live from his bedroom!
His energy and love for music is what people were drawn to.

2020 came around and the whole world eventually was locked down, meaning streaming became huge!!
He was inspired by ‘The Shapeshifters’s Sunday Service’ & ‘Sam Divine’s Divine Tribe’ that he thought he would set up a Twitch Stream weekly and for approximately a year, this became a Saturday stream called ‘Saturday Revolution’ and it went down so well.

He had also originally organised a charity event in aid of the charity ‘Mind’ in which he had asked a load of other twitch DJs to do an hour to 2 hours of streaming and at the end of the night he and the group of DJs had raised over £700 for Mind!

Fast forward to 2021. Charlie was kindly invited to Ministry of Sound for Glitterbox in London. He got to meet his Idols, The Shapeshifters, Simon Dunmore, Melvo Baptiste and many more. It was his first ever time in such a club event and he was inspired and it set him on course for the start of his journey into the industry.

Charlie has networked and become friends with some of House & Disco Music’s finest DJs/Producers such as: Michael Gray, The Shapeshifters, Jellybean Benitez, Sam Divine, Melvo Baptiste, Aline Rocha, Mike Dunn, Hifi Sean, Seamus Haji and so many more who have seen Charlie’s journey and continue to show support and continue to show him the way!

Whilst being a student at Access Creative College between 2021-2023, he has won the Local and National DJ award for his passionate mixes with one specifically chosen by Point Blank Music and that mix is a ‘Salsoul Tribute’ and is in his mixes on this page.

Late September 2023. Charlie had moved away from Cornwall to study at Point Blank Music School for a Music & Sound Engineering Degree. Since moving to London, Charlie has had so many opportunities including: A Residency at The Pregnant Man Bar in Chancery Lane, Played at multiple events at Brixton Jamm Supporting the likes of: Jess Bays, Mas Que Nada, Route 94 and many more. He has more recently played for: The Disco Express, Late Night Disco, Pub in the Park Festivals, Blue Marlin Ibiza London and many more!

Charlie has been super lucky to have joined Michael Gray for his Mastermix Show on Mi-Soul Radio and provided a 30 minute guest mix which has opened more opportunities for Charlie.
He has also been on Select Radio with James Foxx and has done guest mixes for The Disco Express too!

If anything, Charlie’s biggest achievement so far on his journey has been very recently.

Charlie had a message from The Shapeshifters asking him to warm him up at his London date at Stereo in Covent Garden. It was a full circle moment for Charlie considering 4-5 years prior, he was watching and idolising him from his bedroom streams.
Charlie warmed The Shapeshifters up with a 2-Hour Warm up set in which he did Shapes proud and the crowd were just as impressed.
Later that night, The Shapeshifters invited Charlie for a Back to Back DJ Set. What a Moment!
