What this is, is an alchemical podcast which moves through several lectures and topics of discussion, time-periods, extracts and considers epistemologically esoteric materials which, we argue, should be situated in a more central position within the educational curriculum. I have essentially tried to make a gnostic text. We would have been burnt at the stake if we had produced this show 200 years earlier, since it contains dangerous ancient wisdoms that truly subvert the norms and truths of today. 

Sonically speaking, this is perhaps the most ambitious project I have ever completed (and should be listened to on good speakers/headphones, to do the low-end subs justice). I relied on a combination of recording live instruments (such as guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, tin whistle, etc), manipulating samples and adding electronic synth elements. Throughout I tried to mimic the speech patterns and reflect the tone of the extract/discussion, creating a specific sound-worlds for each section - perhaps most evident in the Pomander section. 

The website hosts the companion booklet to go along with the second episode - Conversation on Easter Sunday - the illustrations from which were done by Caroline and Roland Sabatier and can be found in the The Complete Encyclopedia of Elves, Goblins and Other Little Creatures by the preeminent French elfologist and folklore scholar Pierre DuBois. The companion booklets for the other episodes shall be added in due course.
