I finally escaped the studio long enough to play some music over the holidays. A rather Snow and Ice flavored batch of improvisations no doubt helped by the temperature dropping to -29° F while I was working on them... After 5 months of engineering other folks projects it felt good to just play for a few days!

This track reminds me of hanging out in Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba in the fall howling with the wolves. This is excerpted from the full 14 minute improvisation which features some savagely ignorant guitar playing! LOL I think I'll share that version on request...

It Only Yurts When I Laugh

This piece gives a good glimpse into my current live performance ambient methodology starting with a single note on a synth into a virtual PCM-42 doing square wave modulated long delays. This is followed by 3 more synths creeping in one at a time each being looped in an instance of Augustus Loop and followed by fx then hitting the mixer. My guitar creeps in over top of it all about a third of the way through.

I'm running the whole rig in Plogue Bidule which I find a friendly alternative to Max/MSP plus I can use all the groovy AU & VST plugins I already own!
