With the fourth of July around the corner I thought it apt to look at one of the core principles our country was founded on.  You’ll find the popular phrase "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" in the United States Declaration of Independence. According to the document these three unalienable rights have been given to all human beings by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect. That’s a lot to jam into a short podcast, so let’s keep the focus on the last one, the pursuit of happiness. 
 
Many have made the pursuit and attainment of happiness a complicated matter. Just look at some recent magazine titles.

Meaning comes from the pursuit of more complex things than happiness
 
Ummm, no. Wrong. Not even close to being right.
 
Here’s the thing, finding happiness, and staying happy isn’t hard at all. It’s right in front of our noses. The editors at Time and the Atlantic might want to dust off their bibles and learn a thing or two when it comes to happiness.
