I get warm in my heart when recalling the original jungle sounds of the UK as I heard them rinsed in Toronto circa '98/'99.  That scene was in lockstep -if a couple of years behind- with the forefront coming from Bristol, London, and the like.

Translation revisits Theory’s ‘Babylon Dem’ from the Solstice EP (2010), through the eyes of its creator, The Untouchables, Double 0, and Mantra – each deliver fresh interpretations of the original, while maintaining its infectious rebel sound. Up first, Theory sets the foundation with his ‘Dem A Pree Remix’, an update for 2016 that re-explores the critical interplay between the chords and dark swirling FX of its predecessor. Next, The Untouchables brighten things up with a dub/reggae-inspired version, with a live feel to it. Veteran producer Double 0 flexes his musical versatility on the ‘Dubwise Remix’, a heavyweight rhythm for the dance with fluttering renegade sonics and a nasty low-end thump. Mantra opts for a more abstract deconstruction of the original on the ‘Charlatan Remix’, crafting a menacing and hypnotic tribal sound from the echo chamber, with sinister reverberations to close things out.
