Gimme A Break Records present the debut EP from Brazilian DJ and
producer ERAM, co-founder of ZONAexp and member of Tijolo Records.

Following releases on Raiders, Das Booty, Caldo, ChoccyBiccy, Macro Hits, ZONAexp and a widely acclaimed self-released EP “Music Is My Life”, ERAM explores her far-reaching influences, including juke, breaks and jungle, in “High Winds”.

The EP opens with two frenetic, juke-inspired club tracks, the second of which features long-time collaborator Tabu. “Gimme Gimme” provides an old-school breaks interlude fitted with mesmerizing melodic sequences and pulsating harmonic elements. Bandcamp exclusive “L0V3 S3NS4T10N” transforms a Loleatta Holloway classic into a jungle tekno anthem which caught the ears of many during ERAM’s recent European tour. Finally, Nova Cheq provides a hauntingly pensive remix of “Gimme Gimme” to bring the release to a close.

For our first release of '23, we are extremely pleased to welcome two emerging Naarm-based bassheads in Yollks and nickname, to the label. Although both artists are new signatories here at CV, they've been on our radar for quite some time now; Yollks through her founding of the @fluxxclub collective, and nickname through his Found Under podcast. The two have a pinpoint focus on promoting homegrown art, and as a like-minded group, it's an honour to have them on board for CVU022. 

In the first half of the release, Yollks serves up a fiendish blend breaks and electro, sitting in the fast lane as we rush through squelching low-ends, phased out synth work, and frenetic drums. Likewise, but taking every opportunity to impart his sonic flavour, nickname grants us access to a pair of killer breakbeat tracks, one slower and more UK-garage-influenced, and one faster and techno-heavy. 

All together, the four tracks make for one helluv' an EP.

Manchester-based label, Brick Sweat Records, deliver their first EP of the year teaming up with the mysterious Irish producer, Hasch.

The EP brings 3 club-ready DJ tools that are built for the sweaty mid-night raving heights. For this track Hasch blend's hard techno with some iconic UK vocals & rough breakbeats to create 'Phat Womp'.

Over the past couple years, Hasch has slowly been implementing his productions and building his profle across a number of labels, including Your Character, Filth Inc. and Hyperdome Records. The producer's usual style brings punchy kick drums and hard-hitting basslines combining breaks, techno and ghetto sounds. Hasch said:

"This EP was inspired by a blend of UK sounds and four-to-the-floor beats for club use, with a consistent sprinkle of Donk throughout. At the time of writing this EP, I was rejuvenating types of wood, hence the cover."
