Sister Zo - The Fool (Holloway Remix)

@krotone brings his unmistakable brand of garage and breaks to Scuffed Recordings on his 16 Deck EP.

Leeds-based producer Krotone is one of the most unique producers working in garage and breaks in recent years, with releases on labels like DEXT, Of Paradise, and DPR, alongside appearances at Outlook Festival and some of his hometown’s most prominent venues.

Krotone’s sound flits between 2-step UKG and breakbeat with a healthy serving of groove, bass weight and dub influence. Produced on a hardware setup, Krotone’s sound is shot through with an upfront rawness that makes his tracks stand out in a crowded field.

His 16 Deck EP features three new tracks, from the the lurching swing of opener ‘Watch’, to the satisfyingly wobbly title track, and closing with the taut, stuttering 4x4 and spaced-out dub chords of ‘Original’.

Krotone - 16 Deck EP (Previews)

Two fresh dance floor heater mixes by Solomon Rose of Bedroom Rats Records’ first release – BRR001. With punchy bass lines reminiscent of speed garage, the TFC (Floorboard Shakerz Mix) gives that much-needed re-burst of energy in the early morning raving hours. The floaty chords in the Dance For Me (5am Mix) are coupled with darker, sharp synth sounds, bringing a whole new feel to the original.
