The final katharsis release of 2024 is the 26-track compilation “Physical Force” featuring a wide range of affiliated artists from both the international and local Copenhagen electronic music scene. As the title hints, Physical Force delves into the visceral, bodily aspects of music, inviting its contributors to explore the theme of movement as a central element in their compositions. Each artist was encouraged to focus on rhythm, groove, energy, and the physicality of sound, which resulted in drum-heavy release from start to finish. While there is a consistent emphasis on rhythm and a bodily connection to the music, the tracks vary widely in style and sonic texture, ranging from big melodic anthems, gritty experimental techno, heavy jungle bangers, and beyond.

Bump In The Night sinks deep into the shadows of a dark, minimal descent shaped by the spirit of golden-era Techstep. Techy, precision drums cut through a bed of haunting, atmospheric pads, while a relentless, pounding bassline stalks beneath the mix. The tension never lets up. Every hit, every echo, every low-end rumble feels like something lurking just out of sight. This is a track built to make you fear what moves unseen in the night.

This VA release marks the beginning of a collaborative process.
Contrary to other releases, nobody decides who is good or fitting enough.
Instead all artists participate in a joint feedback process to improve on their tracks, until they have reached a level at which they feel comfortable releasing.

As the title indicates, each track is a reflection on the musical taste, life situation, and production ability of each artist.
Over time - with more releases - we'll be able to see all artists grow.
