Emission 19 is a recording of Bill Converse’s whip-crack body mover of a vinyl set live from Surface Tension on March 3, 2017. It’s a headlong dive down the acid bobsled track that kept us throwing crazed shapes into the wee hours and we’re oh so grateful to be able to share it with you.

Bill Converse hails from Austin, Texas and has releases on Dark Entries and Texas Recordings Underground. His new project, Tide Eman, has a record forthcoming on Active Cultures.

After a long time of planning we are happy to finally present you the twelfth R|A|S Records Mix. The longtime record collector @stirnband shows his dark side and refers to his musical roots. Post-Punk, No Wave, experimental Electronics and EBM – or as he called it: "German Angst in Flipperbuden".

Close your eyes, listen to the sound of silence and let the music guide you throughout this mystical journey. The path to enlightenment can be found inside the Night Church. As you walk into its kaleidoscopic landscape and experience this new form of ritual, you discover a strange world where Nothing Is True yet everything is permitted. A gathering of like-minded souls connects in the Fog whilst the sound waves, emulated by the wall-mounted pods, drone continuously.   From now on, there is No Turning Back. The Ceremony has begun. Standing in circles, the disciples await whilst a father figure blesses each one and initiates the recruits to these new rites. Metallic noises resonate continuously and the underlying pulse bounces off the walls in unison. A violent rattling, like a distant Car Crash, distracts the group’s attention. A flash of light dissimulating a ghostlike figure appears out of the darkness like an Ektakröm Killer. You experience vivid hallucinations whilst being greeted by some sort of entities from another dimension. “Ok, I’m here! Dark living, I don’t believe what’s going on at 600 feet below sea level. You know sometimes, I hear Voices in my mind and I don’t really know where they come from.” Are you starting to lose the plot or is the dark side trying to bring you down and under? The guide distracts your attention with a new form of Celebration, leaving all your obscure thoughts behind.
Taken in by the sound of the bass, bodies start moving compulsively as if they were being lead by a bunch of wild Country Girls. All seems to be back on track, yet something doesn’t feel quite right. O Superman? Is that the title of a song or is the man with the red cape really in the house? These New Views come across like quite a surprise. From modern day chivalry to medieval cosmic wonders, it is becoming more and more difficult to realise where you actually are. Some Bizarre percussion comes across like another very confusing element but brings the group back together in a new form of trance. It seems like you have a definite Fetish for the undiscovered soundscapes going on here. Animals are coming out of the walls and dogs can be heard barking from a distance. The ceiling grew with vines until the wall became the world all around. It’s like a jungle out there and everyone is suddenly Jamaica Running. There is no question about it; a Spirit has definitely empowered everyone since it all begun. A slight air of melancholy is coming across as if things were starting to reach an end. No more Going West. Free from any kind of physical movements, you have reached your destination. Thank you for taking part in our Forbidden Dreams. We hope that you enjoyed our cerebral gatherings of non-existent human beings. Open your eyes, the time has come to leave this state of Hypnosis and fall back into the realms of reality.
