Few words from the artist: 

1/ How would you describe your personal connection to music and how it influences your creative process?

Music is an integral part of my daily life, a true essence of my life and culture. 
It punctuates every moment of my existence and shapes my memories in an indelible manner. It serves as an invitation to travel through time, awakening a rich and varied range of emotions within me.
As someone deeply nostalgic, I take pleasure in immersing myself in memories of yesteryears, recalling the enchanting melodies of old Makossa tapes that accompanied our car rides. Similarly, I enjoy venturing into a future imbued with utopia, feeding my imagination with the promises of a better world. When I create, I always strive to be guided by genuine emotion, which I endeavor to translate into the harmonies and arrangements I craft. 
My music, decidedly vibrant, often emerges beyond established conventions, propelled by overflowing creativity and a constant quest for authentic expression.

2/ As an artist, how do you see the intersection between fashion and music? 

The worlds of music and fashion share a symbiotic bond, each enhancing the other in a seamless interplay of creativity. Over time, many fashion designers have drawn inspiration from the musical trends of their era. Take, for instance, the punk fashion movement of the 1970s, heavily influenced by bands like the Sex Pistols. As a musician myself, fashion serves as a dynamic outlet for expressing my personality and embodying the musical atmosphere I inhabit. It’s like a canvas where I can project an alter ego, embracing facets of myself that may lie in the shadows. The influence of music on fashion is undeniable, rooted in its deep cultural impact. Fashion trends often emerge from the vibrant, nocturnal energy of clubs, where music sets the rhythm of the night. Moreover, music plays a pivotal role in shaping the ambiance of fashion shows, adding depth to collections, and guiding their artistic direction with finesse.

3/ What particularly interested you in collaborating with Études to make this mix?

The Études brand embodies a contemporary aesthetic with avant-garde forms, expressing itself through various art forms such as photography, fashion, and music. What I particularly appreciate is this multidisciplinary aspect that facilitates connections with different artists and provides a platform for cross-disciplinary expression. My collaboration with Études explores the diversity of urban cultures worldwide, creating a natural synergy between the brand and my art. This bridge could lead us to explore together the intersections between music, fashion, and culture, creating unique immersive experiences that celebrate diversity and innovation. My music, much like Études’ creations, encourages individual expression and creative freedom. In this collaboration, we will convey a message of authenticity and open-mindedness, providing a platform for self-expression and the celebration of artistic diversity.

4/ How did you curate this musical audio journey?

I conceived this mix as an invitation to embark on a bold exploration of sounds influenced by diverse cultures, capturing the spirit of adventure through a fundamentally contemporary music. The mix starts with a shimmering melody, rhythmic and mesmerizing percussion, inviting bodies and minds to engage in coordinated action. Deep and powerful bass intertwine with exotic melodies and ethnic sounds, creating a hypnotic atmosphere that captures the vibrant energy of current urban culture, reminiscent of the buzz of a city.

Emergence, Vibrant, Organic

@oasefribourg is the alias of Nicola, DJ and digger from Fribourg whose eclectic selections are recognized throughout Switzerland. He is the co-founder of the online radio station TRNSTN Radio and performs typically under the name Los Pashminas alongside his partner Vighil, the creator of the independent vinyl store Ablette Records. However, he comes today alone to present a 100% vinyl selection brimming with emotions, stepping aside from club music to glance towards trip-hop, downtempo or R&B. This mix highlights his knack for uncovering hidden gems and weaving them into narratives that drift between psychedelism, darkness, and light.

Deviant pop music maker, Bulie Jordeaux is highly inspired by minimal wave, post punk and dubby sounds. 
She is obsessed with thick atmospheres, heavy rhythmics and dark sonorities. Her music is a deep dive into bewitching sounds, always keeping a focus on vocals.

For this fifth episode of our lazed mix series, the live performer and producer Bulie Jordeaux brings us an hour of slow experimental punk tunes blended with more modern electronic sounds keeping it dark and moody.

Bulie Jordeaux :  "Walking in a dark forest. Not quite sure if you’re dreaming or not. Muffled sounds resonate in the thick night, cryptic shadows are reflected on the trees.
