Elliott Smith is one of my songwriting idols, simple as that. Sometimes I really feel like the emotional songwriting part of music gets a bit lost within the dance music world, which was a big reason I picked this amazing song to cover. I just wanted to try and do my best to honor such a great musician and one of my favorite songs.

I'm giving this song away for free (you can download it by clicking the above link) because I have an EP coming out on November 9th that I'd love for everyone to check out when it comes out. Its called the Embrace EP and its 6 songs, including my brand new single "Embrace". He's celebrating the release of his 5th album 'The Curved Line' which is out this week on his own Drut imprint. "Opening with a track from the beautiful new album by CFCF, this is a selection of the more mellow end of stuff I've been playing out recently, with plenty of kick drums and a track off my new LP thrown in for good measure. I guess I think of it of of a bit of a warm up set - I actually really enjoy playing in a club at that early, potent, time of night - playing to people filing into an empty room and watching the atmosphere build."
