Influences:  My biggest influence is undoubtedly the friends and musical peers that I share artistic connection with. Whether it's through organizing events, mixing together at an afters, or sending music across the void - the people who I am emotionally connected to and enjoy chatting about music/art/life with are certainly the most influential in my musical world.

More abstractly I am influenced by narrative in DJ sets. I am compelled by Djs who have the ability to transport me into their unique world. I've experienced this transcendence on the dance floor during sets like Eris Drew at TUF til' dawn in 2018 and Powder closing at Sustain Release. I would, however, say that the DJ does not stand alone in creating this transcendent experience. As an organizer I am keenly aware of the confluence of people, place, and DJ as the trifecta that must act in harmony to create the most special and transformative experiences. Dance music is such an uniquely immersive type of music and that quality creates a situation where the sum is certainly greater than the parts if it's done with intention and care.   

Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: Secondnature ~ a label and underground event series. Formerly a member of TUF. I used to go by Aos and also am 1/2 of the project Sage. 

Favorite Quote:  Ok I would say I do not have a favorite quote. But I have a favorite poem by Rumi that me and a bunch of pals have memorized and say aloud together as a toast sometimes...

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: Seek joy and genuine connection through music. Dj the music you love. Technical skills come with time and are secondary to selection and expression of self, so don't fixate too much on mistakes. Uplifting your peers and supporting each other is one of the most meaningful parts of artistic community - if you have resources (and especially privilege) be open to sharings your knowledge and skills.

Ground Hum Mix Series 02: Selene's Fever Dream

We welcome the summer season with our first volume of Sage edits. We love reinterpreting our favorite artists, and our hard drive is full of ideas for edits and remixes. We hope that listeners share the nostalgia and emotion that these songs evoke for us, while also finding something new to love in our interpretations. 

This EP is a reflection of both of us as individual artists and our combined vision, featuring one track by each of us and one we made together. The tracks we chose to edit hold a special place in our hearts, full of memories of the delight of musical discovery. The Cocteau Twins edit is particularly special and long-held. It was written collaboratively many years ago in the sage field that is our namesake. It was one of the first completed Sage tracks that we hoped to release. It has stayed with us through many eras of our lives together as artists and partners. The artwork designed by Isabel Von Der Ahe is based on the color palette from the cover of Heaven or Las Vegas, an album we and so many of our friends love. We are so thrilled to finally share it and the full EP with you and hope you enjoy it!

Sage 4: Edits

Seelene's 𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓰𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝔃𝓪𝓻𝓭 Big Moon Come Down

Music conjured from the imagery of winter moonlight reflected in water. Recorded under a waxing gibbous on the 29th of November in Seattle, Washington. Brooding and textural, with glimmers of light hovering around 90 beams per minute.

Seelene's Mooncast Vol. 1

This set was recorded live from 5:00am-6:30am as the sun rose over the mountains at The Lodge. 

The Lodge is a yearly multi-disciplinary arts and music event hosted in the Cascade Mountains outside of Seattle, WA. It's a time where local artists and friends come together and share their best work and create an immersive two-day experience in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Helping to curate this event each year is a privilege; I wouldn't be where I am without the community involved.
