Written when Matth used to live in Grangetown and, on his way home from college, would be propositioned by ladies of the night, Bad Girls takes its cue from Jonathan Richman and The Ramones to deliver a wonderfully catchy dose of schoolboy scuzz.

A Welsh speaker with Bajan heritage, eighteen-year-old Kizzy Crawford's solo career began just two years ago. In that time, Kizzy has developed an increasing sophistication to her songwriting and performance; this is complimented by her soaring voice that boasts both range and charisma.

Her ambition as a black Welsh artist is to make her mark by fusing bilingual soul/jazz and she's already getting recognition for her work with airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru as well as live TV performances on BBC for Children in Need and the 6 Nations ad campaign, and various S4C broadcasts. Kizzy won the Brwydr Y Bandiau at the National Eisteddfod 2013 She also won a Welsh Singer-Songwriter competition receiving money to record her first EP release with Amy Wadge (signed to BDI Music and Ed Sheeran/Lewis Watson co-writer).

Live appearances include Glastonbury on the BBC introducing stage, National Assembly for Wales during WOMEX, London Jazz Festival supporting Sarah Gillespie, Swn Festival, Hay Festival, the Plaid Cymru Conference and has supported Gruff Rhys, and Newton Faulkner on the Welsh dates of his tour.

She has recently signed a publishing deal with BDI/Bucks music and is recording new material for release late summer. Kizzy has also won BBC Horizons artist of the year, which sees her playing various BBC events and radio sessions including a Maida Vale session this autumn. She is looking forward to performing at various festivals and venues this summer/autumn including Festival No. 6, and the Palace of Westminster and to touring the US/Canada in October. 

“I wrote Golden Brown reflecting back on when I sometimes felt alone at school, different to everyone else. I wrote the song as if I were talking to my six-year-old self. I experienced some bullying and prejudice in school, but one of the things with helped me was my love of music. I recently realised that the only way to deal with bullying - or unhappiness, for that matter - is to speak out about it, and I've found my own way of doing that through writing songs. It was singing with my school friends that helped me to feel I was part of something - especially in the Eisteddfod. Our language and the beautiful traditional songs lifted my spirits… The most important thing is to always remember that you are beautiful inside and out. This song goes out to everyone to remind us that we need to believe in ourselves and remember that we hold inner and outer beauty. I believe in myself now and would like all children to believe in themselves too.” Kizzy x

Mae'r siaradwr Cymraeg gyda wreiddiau yn Bajan, wedi datblygu soffistigeiddrwydd cynyddol yn ei gyfansoddi a pherfformiad yn ystod y cyfnod ac mae hyn yn cael ei ategu gan ei lais cynyddol sy'n ymffrostio gyda ystod a charisma .
Ei huchelgais fel artist du Cymreig yw gwneud ei farc trwy ffiwsio 'soul'/jazz dwyieithog ac mae hi eisoes yn cael cydnabyddiaeth am ei gwaith gyda'i cherddoriaeth yn cael ei chwarae ar BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru yn ogystal â pherfformiadau fyw ar S4C. Enillodd Kizzy cystadleuaeth Brwydr Y Bandiau yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 2013, yn sicrhau iddi Wobr o slot ar Faes B yn ogystal â gwobr ariannol o £1000. Hefyd, enillodd Kizzy y gystadleuaeth Canwr/cyfansoddwr Merthyr a Rhondda Cynon Taf 2012 ac yna derbyniodd gwobr ariannol i recordio gyda Amy Wadge (gyd-gyfansoddwraig Ed Sheeran a Lewis Watson, wedi llofnodi i Gerddoriaeth BDI).

Roedd canu gyda fy ffrindiau ysgol wedi helfpu i deimlo fy mod i'n rhan o rywbeth - yn enwedig yn yr Eisteddfod. Roedd ein hiaith a'r caneuon traddodiadol hardd yn codi fy ysbryd pan oeddwn yn drist.
Y peth mwyaf pwysig yw i wastad cofio eich bod yn hardd y tu mewn a'r tu allan. Mae'r gân yn mynd allan i bawb i'n hatgoffa bod angen i ni gredu yn ein hunain ac i gofio ein bod yn dal harddwch mewnol ac allanol. Dwin credu yn fy hun nawr ac yn dymuno i bob plentyn i gredu yn eu hunain hefyd.

A radical remix of “I Tried to Find it In Books” from their album “Bitten By Wolves” to wet the appetite of the music masses ahead of their follow up album due out early next year. The song’s morphed from a garage stomper into a cut up, shuffling, electro, audio montage that trips ahead of itself, gathering pace and gradually stumbling towards an ecstatic finale. It’s like TV on the Radio soundtracking “Chariots of Fire”.

Last years “Bitten by Wolves” marked their first full album release following a string of highly acclaimed mini albums and E.P’s. A record that veered from writhing, snarling, swampy garage rock into somber moments of haunting, sepia tinted nostalgia via the occasional psychedelic wig out. If you don’t love what you do, why bother doing it?
Why commit hours and hours of your extremely precious and limited time to activities that don’t stir that pool of passion sitting dormant in your stomachl? If you’re going to be giving a hellova lot of time to something, you’d better make damn sure it’s worth it….
…and we’ve certainly put in what could mathematically be referred to as a hellova lot of time in taking See Monkey Do Monkey from a humble little promotions company in Ireland to one of Britain’s must exciting up and coming young indie labels.
Suppose it’s probably a good thing we love what we do then….

This label was put together for one reason and one reason only – our undying and at times almost worryingly obsessive love of music. It’s a love we feel compelled to not only share, but ram down the throat of the world…we like you guys, and you share the things you like with the people you like.
Since our inaugural release, The Methods debut LP “The Front” waaay back in 2008 we’ve scowered the musical landscape for acts that make us stop dead in our tracks, sweat a little and then punch the air repeatedly whilst making whooping noises.

We’ve had our roster of acts enthral crowds up and down the length of the UK and Europe. We’ve been firm fixtures on Radio 1, 2 and 6 including sessions with the likes of Marc Riley and Mark Lamar. We’ve had music from our acts appear on glossy television advertisement campaigns and independent movie soundtracks and had an album (Colorama – Box) nominated for the first ever “Welsh Music Prize” 
But don’t just take our slightly biased word for it’ other people also have nice things to say about what we do as well…

His label Motown quickly became known as The Hit Factory as it rewrote musical history with a production line of legendary proportions.
