The DifferentSound Podcast #299 welcomes Jon Hussey! Jon Hussey is one of the true pioneers of the Irish Techno scene and has now been playing for three decades since the inception of his Planet Dub night at Dublin's legendary Columbia Mills club. This mix is a recording of a recent set Jon played for Basement Project’s night in Cuba, Galway as part of a special event celebrating his years of playing Techno! It's a real showcase of his style, weaving tracks from past, present and future spanning his deep knowledge of Techno grooves, while always embedding blueprint tracks from the history vaults in his sets, threading his underground roots and connecting some of today’s classier Techno productions.  Lock in for the journey spanning through deeper atmospheric Techno, Electro, Acid and heavy percussive Techno workouts. Jon Hussey has previously released productions with fellow great Techno DJ friend Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker 'Tricaustic' with “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” on Komisch, further tracks on RLSD Records, Earwiggle, Ceili tracks, Deliquent Delivery, Circuit Structure Records and most recently on Netherlands based label R3volution Records with a track on Viktims Vol.1 various artist EP. On the DJing front Jon has played in many Techno havens throughout these years including Amsterdam, London, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds, Turin, New York and more.

Elvin embodies a vibrant force. She was born with rhythm and groove pulsing through her veins- a reflection of her heritage as the daughter of a legendary Turkish rock & roll drummer. She moved from home country to Madrid in 2013, and found inspiration in the vibrant Spanish electronic music scene, finding herself increasingly drawn to the intricate soundscapes forged by her favorite artists. Since then, she's played at some of Madrid's most esteemed venues such as Mondo Disko and Lab the Club, as well as securing international bookings in Berlin, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Belgium. Along her ascendant career path, Elvin has shared lineups with respected artists like Adiel, Ben Klock, Blasha & Allatt, Cravo, Fadi Mohem & Philippa Pacho, amongst others. Her sound is a transcendent blend of classic and modern techno infused with the soul of Detroit, enriched by mesmerizing dubby synths, tribal percussion, and potent basslines which forge a soulful take on machine music.

Juan David Idrobo aka Mind Halla es un Dj y productor originario de Santiago de Cali, Colombia, afincado en Barcelona.

Su primera conexión con la electrónica nace gracias al colectivo cultural +T, y desde que está en España ha sido co-fundador y residente del concepto de eventos “Pandora Club”, que tiene lugar en algunas las mejores salas del Pais Vasco, y lleva la curaduría de los podcasts de Ethereal Movement.
Ha participado en otros proyectos nacionales que conocemos bien, tales como Nigma, SubRadio o Stelar Booking, y recientemente le pudimos disfrutar en formato Live en un evento Spectrum en el 78/33 de Barcelona.  

Su discurso musical se orienta hacia las líneas más intensas e introspectivas del deep techno, pero sin dejar de conectar con la pista de baile. Como él mismo diría “es deep deep, pero se puede bailar…”

En esta ocasión nos ha preparado un dj set que, sin lugar a dudas, es deep deep, pero te obliga a bailar!
