I'm So Cold

My girlfriend and I broke up after the best summer of my life, and the day before her first semester at the University of Miami. I wrote this song during a time where I felt like I couldn't even go outside because the warmth of the August air reminded me of her. Descending from jangly guitars into noisy chaos, "The Sun" is an emancipation of those feelings, an acceptance that I can't be without her (no matter how hard I might try), and an admission that I'm afraid of heights.
