When We Dip's Tales of Romance imprint is proud to present its first EP of the year, ‘Meet my Tempo' by Zoi. The outing is centred around groove and harmonic touch. Manu, Gullen and Madmotormiquel each give their take of the A-side.

Zoi, who has released with Kindisch, Traum and Dirtybird, originally hail from Pakistan and is an integral part of Toronto's scene as a programmer of club Subdivision.

The A-side, ‘Meet my Tempo' is a vibey affair marked by old-school house drums, an uplifting pad and diverse ear candies.

Inner Solstice showcases the same atmospheric feel, as the ever-evolving percussions and hats link the raw sub-bass, joyful pad and sparse lead melody.

Montréal's Manu delivers a throbbing remix which draws inspiration from his regular appearances in the city's institutions such as Stéréobar and Le Salon Daomé. The glitchy break gives a breather before leaving the colourful sub lead the ‘I just want to groove' ad-lib.

Gullen's remix of Meet my Tempo revolves around an inspiring rolling bass progression, stabs and a sharp clap. A tasteful offering from the Barcelona producer fresh off his second EP with Mobilee.

Madmotormiquel's remix rounds up the pack. Bouncy percussions, short stabs and drum rolls hit against the bassline and punchy kick.

On their newest release for Acker Dub, they dig deep into that timeless goodness known as House Music. The duo arranges streamlined layers of warm melody and silky samples into tunes that are round, organic and stimulating as it can be. This dance is clearly led by functionality. Between hints of dubby lightness the sun is winking at you. 

To polish things off to utter perfection, there's a perfectly fitting remix by Steve Kelley who gives the original Pornbugs vibes a fresh, uplifting twist.

Sublease Music proudly welcomes Vincenzo, one of the longest serving producers on the house circuit, with Assassin, a slinky, deep and rolling house cut. 

The title track builds around a snaking bassline, with sharp percussions adding the groove before lush pads add the texture to the groove.

Amiable Romanian producer and DJ  Mihai Popoviciu pops by to add his own take - more driving and functional - this is late night basement music. 

The third track is No Time To Explain - another rolling bassline and tight drum groove add the anchor for the crisp percussion and deep chords.
