*NAME:*Seiko Ji Hyun

*INTRO TO K-POP:* "Ever since I was a young girl, I loved dancing so much that I had to imitate some of the famous dance moves. One time in 2009, I stumbled upon 'ASAP' (a popular variety show) where five actresses performed 'Nobody' by the Wonder Girls. I felt that it was new and refreshing compared to the songs I had heard before. Singing that song made my classmates think that I was crazy because it's Korean.
I was in Grade 5 then, so I searched the song and started to randomly sing K-pop songs ('I Don't Care' by 2NE1 and 'It's You' by Super Junior, specifically) during our camping trip in school. Then 2NE1, Super Junior, Girls' Generation and other groups came into my life. The rest, they say, is history. I'm a K-popper for 7 years now and I'm proud to say that I grew up with K-pop."

*CULTURAL MISUNDERSTANDINGS:* "Other than the language, what [people I know] don't understand is that [K-pop idols] are not clones. They keep on comparing idols to local celebrities, bashing them. They don't understand why idols dress the way they do and some other stuff. They just don't understand why some fans fall in love with someone who is from a foreign land and want to become a part of their world."
