And lo, did the Seladorians once again traverse the planet, seeking only the very best in sumptuous sounds, music that would rock the dancefloors to their very core. And verily we did land in Panama, where we reconnected once more with Carlos Barbero. ‘Wake Up’, his warmly received Selador debut last year, had received more plaudits than Lord Plaudit of Plauditsville on National Plaudits Day.

“Please sir,” we said, trembling in anticipation, “can we have some more?” My friends, we think you know the answer, for it resides here with you right now, a floor filler of epic proportions direct from the Barbero bunker, featuring a goosebump-generating vocal and remixers of great repute. 

‘Closer to Closure’ is the title and all versions showcase the sublime vocal performance of Dom Fricot (he of Anjunadeep and Systematic Recordings fame). The original mix is a thing of beauty, marrying brooding subtlety with striking hooks. File under essential.

We are also overjoyed to have a Selador label debut courtesy of a remix from one of our favourite producers. Yulia Niko(for it is she) is a globetrotting maestro currently resident in Berlin. Her interpretation goes deeeeeep, but also showcases the haunting vocal to brilliant effect.

A late surprise guest arrives at the party, but oh so welcome – and with a sonic sting in the tail. Yes, it’s time for that bonus remix we promised on the epic ‘Closer to Closure’.

It’s a label debut, from a firm favourite at Selador HQ, why, ‘tis only one of Germany’s finest, Andre Lodemann!
We’ve been working to get Andre on the label for longer than we care to remember, but both parties agreed it needed to be the right project – and here it is. Carlos Barbero and Dom Fricot are the lucky recipients of the Lodemann magic.
Emotionally-charged and always atmospheric, Andre hits the dancefloor sweet spot with this driving yet intricate interpretation that is the perfect bed for the impassioned vocal, and has had the likes of Undercatt, Fur Coat and Marco Resmann getting all excited.
Building to a finale that will have your goosebumps and spine tingles neck and neck in a race to the dancefloor, this is not to be missed.

Lo, 'tis a pair of veritable lynchpins of the Selador family, two colossi of our catalogue, a pair of electronic music heavyweights.

Blimey o'riley, it's only Robert Babicz…remixed by James Harcourt…for your delight and delectation .

As we hurtle towards our tenth anniversary, a glance at our now somewhat bulky catalogue shows it to be peppered with sonic missives from the man like Babicz, every single one a winner. And when invited to select a track from said oeuvre to take his remix scissors to, James quickly zeroed in on 'Red', a best seller and also our first vinyl release from back in 2016.

The last 18 months have seen James Harcourt catapulted to the upper echelons of the electronic music league table, with A list DJs falling over themselves to play & praise his output. Needless to say, we are suitably chuffed that so many of his titanic tunes have borne the Selador stamp.

Here, James keeps the effervescent hook from the original front and centre, whilst enveloping it with moody synths and roof-raising crescendos throughout an insistent yet uplifting workout. Another nailed on, surefire winner, no doubt destined set for dance floor carnage.

Folgar ft Paula OS - Playground (Agustin Giri Remix) - SELADOR

In this ever-more saturated, fast moving music marketplace, a track needs to be pretty damn special to not only break through, but then have a shelf life. Here at Selador, we're delighted to say that 'Playground' by Folgar, featuring an unforgettable vocal performance from Paula Os, has hit that particular jackpot.

Our multi-artist Showcase releases frequently produce memorable break out tracks, but in this case, the story cuts deeper. We always get frontline dance floor despatches from label bosses Seaman & Parry and Showcase DJ feedback quickly shows us cuts that are popping off. What made 'Playground' stand out was when the batphone at HQ started a'ringin' with some of our favourite artists requesting to remix it.

And when the message came through from the man himself in Argentina that there was a tubthumper of a breaks mix lurking in the vaults itching to be unleashed (all crunching beats, shimmering synths and ethereal vocal snatches), it was all systems go for a full fat four track package.

"Deep, sexy electronica - 80s vibes through a 2022 Argentinean lens" is how we first described the original, and we stand by those words. Remixers James Harcourt and Agustin Giri both also dug that vibe, but each adds their own unique sonic stamp. James teases and stretches out Paula's vocal, making it inescapable and anthemic in equal measure, pure peak time. Agustin goes deep, dark and tribal, building to a goose-bump inducing vocal breakdown which will set pulses racing.
