Premiere: Dubfire - Deadbug (DEAS Remix) [TEC9S6]

The latest release from SLC-6 Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of 'Hot Powder' by DJ Maxo and label boss D.J. MacIntyre. Originally released in 2020 as part of the label's popular SIX: Stage-X collection, it found the duo crafting their first ever collaboration, one which carried a club-effective tech house approach and fared well on dancefloors around the world. Now, almost four years on from its original release, SLC-6 revisits the track with new interpretations from Lena Storm, Facucio and Sergio Vilas. Returning to the label with the first interpretation of 'Hot Powder' is Lena Storm. Making her third appearance on SLC-6, the Russian artist takes the track into her world of melodic techno with buzzing synth lines, catchy vocal coaxes and a pulsating groove that's perfect for a peak time dancefloor. The second interpretation is provided by Facucio who makes his label debut following strong outings for Comet Records and The Purr to begin the year. Hailing from Mendoza, the Argentinean artist takes 'Hot Powder' into progressive territory with a smooth uplifting rendition, complete with siren-like synth mutations and a tough driving groove that's sure to lift the energy of any set. Rounding out the release are two interpretations from Sergios Vilas who returns to the label following a remix of 'Reprise' by Digital Mess late last year. First up, the 'Spring' interpretation keeps things light and melodic, with nicely manicured beats and fluttering arps creating a loud soft dynamic that's nicely suited to a daytime dancefloor. Meanwhile, the 'Autumn' version offers a fuller, more drum-heavy approach, one that maintains the melodic spirit from the original, while going heavier with dark stabs and a catchy vocal re-arrange.

Neighbor is the guy with the tunes—and has been for as long as his friends can remember. Since officially stepping behind the decks in 2024, he’s been blending indie dance, funky grooves, and syncopated rhythms into vibrant, dance-driven sets designed to keep bodies moving and minds drifting. His sound has been described as “new retro,” merging nostalgic textures with modern beats to create an energetic yet immersive vibe.

Based in Atlanta but with roots in Nashville and connections across the country, Neighbor credits mentor DJs like Berth, A-Ron, Birthdae, Mike Bradley, Wild Cherry, and Alfonso Tan for shaping his journey. Whether holding down the club or teaming up with Mike Bradley for their collective “Let’s Dance Atlanta,” Neighbor’s mission is clear: bring people together through music, movement, and a little bit of neighborly love.

Fun fact: Before DJing, Neighbor sang bass and baritone in show choir and a cappella groups—proof that music has always been in his bones. His DJ name comes from a nickname given by his old boss, who noticed he greeted everyone like a friendly neighborhood vibe ambassador. That energy is still at the heart of every set he plays.
