Sometimes there is a sound that lifts you so high you can’t possibly come down. It’s the kind of sound that many strive for, but few can ever reach. UK mainstay Aubrey has been hitting this pinnacle for years through his releases on renowned imprints such as Metroplex, Ostgut Ton, and Skudge, as well as his very own Solid Groove Records. “The Reflection” EP comes as no exception. As only a DJ and Producer of his stature can do, Aubrey goes above and beyond to take the listener through a spectrum of moods that culminate in a rounded and complex experience. From the uplifting, fast paced pads in “Peligro 45” to the disorienting rhythmic voodoo of “Roger Doger” and peak energy drive of “Train To The Fire” there is a sense of direction and otherworldly ambiance that will take any dance floor to the place it needs to be.

DJ Shadow, widely acknowledged as a crucial figure in the development of experimental, instrumental hip-hop, has returned with ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ via Mass Appeal Records [and Believe Digital in France], his first full length release since 2011. The 12-track album finds DJ Shadow exploring new realms in addition to the deep samples and kinetic soundscapes that helped to launch his career 20 years ago. On ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ he’s shifted further toward original composition, a vast experimentation of beats and textures, synthesizers and live instruments including horns and woodwinds. Aukland-born and Peckham-based duo Chaos in the CBD have been on our radar for a minute. You'll probably know these two as the hands behind their seminal debut Midnight in Peckham, released last year. Their new release, Invisible Spectrum, doesn't disappoint. Our favourite of the tracks, "Significant Others" brings the EP to its peak with heavy jazz influences, a bongo beat and serious dance capabilities.
