Toronto house music stalwart Jason Hodges teams up with Melbourne's Joey Coco for a chunky house jam with a hot remix from the legendary DJ Dove for the increasingly strong Aussie imprint Refuge Recordings. Pacey yet deep. 'Opus' channels soulful vocals, skippy percussive rhythms, sprightly synth chords and hard-funking bass. JC's Vocal Mix lets the sweet vox take centre stage, with a stripped-back version coming in the form of Hodges' Dubtool. New Jersey pioneer DJ Dove provides a killer remix, with undulating, queasy, booming bass tones snaking under hard-hitting drums, big snare roll-driven breaks and a dash of techno intensity.

"Aaron Carl Lives On" is the first single released via GIDEÖN's new label HOMO-CENTRIC RECORDS, an imprint dedicated to House music and to re-establish the lines of queer musical tradition at the heart of House, lost to AIDS and the capitalist desecration of dance music itself. This first single very fittingly is dedicated to the late great unsung hero Aaron Carl, the pioneering black queer Detroit dance artist. This single comes from GIDEÖN's 4-track 'Ritmo EP' due out in October. French outfit Happiness Therapy continues its release schedule this September with a brand new EP from Glasgow-based Spanish artist @danbe_music. The four-tracker, aptly named Makes Me Happy, also features a collaboration with Portuguese talent @bernardomotapt

@y4collective head Dan Be is no stranger to the Happiness Therapy family. An accomplished producer, he first debuted on the label in 2021 via Happy House, Volume. 3, before appearing on the VA’s fourth edition later that year. Now, Makes Me Happy marks his first full-length feature on the imprint, continuing a highlight 2022 for the fast-emerging Spaniard.

Closing off Dam Swindle's 3rd 'Keep On Swindling' installment is DJ Bone’s Doc Ciroc remix of ‘The Wrap Around’. DJ Bone goes for pacey percussion with a classic Detroit Techno feel. His version is minimalistic and raw, chopping up the vocal and using the original Prophet pad as a base layer of warmth. The track gets even beefier when the bassline comes in: A dirty modded 101 lick with so much electronic funk that makes it impossible not that dance.
