Milestones! Throughout Ibadan Records’ illustrious 27-year history and its ongoing transcendent surge into the future, there are certain milestones to acknowledge. This brings us to our 150th release by Ibadan’s intern turned A&R, Janne Tavi (@jannetavi).

“BADLANDS” is an ode to the next generation. Named after Janne Tavi’s London radio show, focusing on the next generation. Badlands, the release, is a gripping track infused with tribal influences, exemplifying Ibadan’s raw influence on Janne Tavi’s diverse musical skills.

On the remix, we have one of the brightest new stars in Afro House, Morocco’s Cee ElAssaad (@ceeelassaad), flipping the original and turning it into Afro-House bliss.

PREMIERE: Groove Armada — Talk Talk (Fred Everything Lazy Vox) [BMG]

Selectors are hyped to present you with the premiere of "Get Away" remixed by Cee ElAssaad, taken from the soon to drop "Ola De Novo" remixes album by John Beltran's "Sol Set" project, which originally got released last July on allgoodmusiclabel.   

Having thrown somewhat of a creative curveball with the launch of Latin and soul-centred project Sol Set, John Beltran hands over the Detroit collective's debut album Ola De Novo to a list of impressive global talent for the remix treatment. Kiko Navarro, Kaidi Tatham, Blair Frech, Ezel, Cee ElAssaad, Chris Coco and John Beltran with John Arnold all line up to do their duty, incorporating the sun kissed, percussion-heavy and exotically instrumented vibes into their more house and techno productions. Highlights include Cee ElAssaad's remix of 'Get Away', its gloriously optimistic vocal retained and re-purposed over light and nimble beats, and Chris Coco's dubby slow motion samba take on 'Linda Sau Paulo', but like the label says, it's All Good.

Following this year’s Felabration celebrations, DJ Said, the founder of Fatsouls Records, teams up with Morocco’s extraordinary Cee EIAssaad to create a potent dedication to Fela Kuti, the omnipresent Nigerian musician. Our music today owes a great deal to Fela as an influence. To that purpose, we give a tribute by utilizing his impact.

This first installment of a two-part release is a scorching single with two mixes. All to the components of this composition, including the horns, synth, and vocals, work together to keep the groove alive. The rhythm echoes the uplifting mood of spoken words and modern Afro house. Look for the Part Two vinyl cut in the first few months of 2023.
This release will effortlessly “ignite our mind and soul with inspiration.”

She is a DJ, producer, and vocalist who is shaping the global Afro sound. She collaborates once again with fellow scene figurehead Cee ElAssaad, a chart-topping artist known for his versatility and celebrated for his collaborations with artists like Antonio Ocasia and Janne Tavi. 

The magnificent 'Ashambeni' is an almost eight-minute journey into deeply captivating drums and soul-stirring synth craft. The bright sequences loop and rise up through the mix while the spine-tingling vocals are rousing and empowering over organic percussion and moving bass that will sweep up the dance floor.
