Why the hell haven't we released these jams before? These tracks really fit with the labels output right now, from Brine's Infectious house jam 'let's brake' to Piers Kirwan's Deep House/Bruk crossover track 'tonight'. Label partner Chezz adds another gem with 'touch', an infusion of Latin rhythms and deep synth chords. Rounding up the EP we have a track from Dance Regular's Szajna, 'Paneer 65' delivers a heavy percussive Bruk workout in Bill's usual inimitable style.

APPAREL PREMIERE: Brine - Let's Brake [Boogie Cafe]

Local Talk are a record label dedicated to true and timeless house music with influences from jazz, funk and soul. This new release by Wipe The Needle is inspired by the classic UK garage sound.

The label’s back catalogue features music from legends and pioneers ranging from Terrence Parker to the late Soulphiction, and the new release is the first part of a double EP by Wipe The Needle.

Wipe The Needle is a UK based artist that has previously featured tracks on influential record labels including Defected, Soundmen On Wax and Deeply Rooted, and is making a return to Local Talk following the success of his 2019 EP titled Enchanted.

The EP features five funk-fuelled tracks with soulful vocals, breakbeat rhythms and analogue synth lines. Its free-flowing percussion and upbeat party vibe is everything fans have come to expect from the Local Talk style.

“Round of Applause (Feat. Aleysha Lei)” opens the release with its broken beat groove and a feisty female vocal that's underpinned by the slap and funk of the bassline.

We follow up our last premiere with a remix from the mighty WheelUP!  Shout out to Re:Fill & Cognitiva Records!

of the full release of ‘Cycles’ by the Jazzfunk duo Re:Fill, Cognitiva shine a light on the incredible remixes that feature on the LP, with the reworks coming from some fine talents indeed.

The sound that Re:Fill are able to conjure up is one of rhythmic complexity, simmering melodic sequences, and an overall feeling of quietly building euphoria that only comes from Jazz laden dance grooves. To assist with the overall vibe of their debut LP, Sofatalk, WheelUP and Ben Hauke were recruited to put their spins on the cuts ‘Impulse’ and ‘Stillness’, and the goods they serve up are truly spectacular. ‘Impulse’ sees both Sofatalk and WheelUP working their magic, with the Sofatalk remix adding in a cosmic tinge to compliment the already wide array of chordal tones, with emphasis placed on the movement between density and spatial vacuums which makes the movement through the phases extra enjoyable. WheelUP takes things down to a saunter, but what a saunter it is, with the feeling captured here one of rhythmic excellence, with the keys enveloping the listener in what could only be described as a blissful bath of melody.

To wrap things up, Ben Hauke really shifts perspectives on ‘Stillness’, with the hazy piano fuelled experience found in the original turbo drived upon a two step leaning beat. The delicate piano that makes the original so intoxicating remains as a rhythmic motif, with plenty of intriguing elements thrown into the mix that keep the mind yearning for more, whilst the beat gets the feet stepping until the early hours.

Three remixes, three differing interpretations, one big wetting of the appetite. This excellent trio only hints at the wider picture, so get locked in until the big day arrives!

Retromigration returns to Ravanelli Disco Club with a brand new broken beat channelling track 'Jeffa'. None other than Ron Basejam steps up on remix duties in signature disco don style.

He didn’t come alone though, bringing his friends Nephews to the dance on the B side who deliver sunset house grooves in the form of 'Reingelaxed'. To complete the EP JKriv remixes 'Reingelaxed' into a synth swirling Balearic gem.

Our man in London is back on the label! Exactly 1 year after his first release on Dirt Crew and two very successful records on his own new imprint “Income Trax” and the New York based “Razor-N-Tape” label. Clive has been consistently growing his following this past year and refining his sound and production. So now we are truly excited to welcome him back, especially as this release will also be on a limited 12” vinyl.

The opener “Pearls” features the amazingly talented London based musician/ composer Jessica Roch on violin and vocals. It’s an uplifting electronica meets deep house track that shines with positivity and beautiful melodies based on an analogue synth foundation by Clive himself. Truly a new addition to Clive’s musical language.

The A2 track “4 Time” is a swinging groover featuring a lush deep beat topped with piano and strings stabs and consisting of great funk all over. Followed be the super fun “Rough and Tough” as first track on then B side. Clive really gives us his new summer anthem here as far as we are concerned. Dance floor happiness guaranteed and we can’t wait to hear this one in an open field and on a big sound system!

As a treat for all fans, we decided to give “Gravitate” the well-deserved vinyl spot as the closing track to this great new record. This jam got massive support over the last months and is Clive’s best performing track on the digital platforms. Here we remastered it especially for vinyl and it sounds doper than ever! Enjoy!
