On his forthcoming EP for Freerange Records (@freerangerecords), Simbad (@simbad) teams up with South African vocalist Brian Temba for a soulful journey which includes three renditions. "Take My Hand" coasts easily on a late-night / early morning vibe. The lightly placed kick keeps the pulse present and allows space for Brian Temba to weave his way through the strings, creating a warm and hypnotic glow. Flips on the EP include a floor-warming remix from label-boss Jimpster (@jimpster) as well as club-ready edit / dub from Simbad himself. All in all, this one is perfect for getting a room warmed or cooling the room down, take your pick!

French producer, instrumentalist and DJ, @neue-grafik, has been building a strong rep for himself over the past few years, releasing records previously on labels such as Rhythm Section, 22a and Wolf Music. His sound is a hybrid of jazz, house, broken beat and hip hop, all with his unique geographical flavours of African ethnicity, Parisian roots and a love for London thrown into the mix. 
Dedicated to his love of the NYC area of 'Bedford-Stuyvesant' this is a brilliant slice of deep house, backed with that jazzy swing and indulgent chords that we love. The production is so warm & inviting that we keep finding ourselves pressing play on it again as soon as its over.

"Choot Choot" goes the AUS production steam train, chugging along on its merry way. In the driver's cabin this time is Brisbane local Dom Bird. Already one half of popular duo Chord Memory Band and part owner of Beats of No Nation (BONN), Dom's set off on a solo escapade and it's fair to say we're stoked with the results. 

Amazingly, we've been told the whole EP was written and recorded over one studio session with help from percussionist Gus Cereijo. Talk about efficiency! It must've been a day or evening enthused with afro-latin cultures, which can be heard loud and clear on the opener Yemayá, meaning "mother whose children are fish". Read into the title what you may. 

Igniting with the lush synth chords, we're soon introduced to an authentic wind-like instrument and pumping bongos, all which trace an energetic path. The first scene of Mel Gibson's 2006 film "Apolcalypto" features a ferocious chase through the Amazon and Yemayá could very easily be its accompaniment...well I think so anyway.

This release once again proves that the BONN posse are pro multi-instrumentalists and know a vibe when they hear one. Keep it locked!

Originally released as a highly limited vinyl double-pack to celebrate Record Store Day 2019, “Re-Vibrations” is now available in an expanded digital download package featuring additional, previously unheard mixes by Karizma (as Kaytronik), IG Culture, QB Smith and Sean McCabe.  The newly extended package includes inspired new versions of some of the label's most talked-about and sought-after tracks.

The selectors pick 'Rocket Love Funk Dub ' a track by the man himself Sean McCabe featuring Dannis Winston - a bumping groove to nice up your early doors session.

Another track I know Someone featuring Mike City remixed by IG Culture was featured recently on Music Is My Sanctuary.

With releases on prestigious labels such as Quantize Recordings, Z Records, Papa Records and Local Talk - yes, he was responsible for our third release back in 2011, 'The Grit' - and ever since we've been waiting for his return.

'You Can Make It' features the soulful vocals of Pete Simpson.  It's one of those timeless house tunes immaculately produced that hits every note perfect. Together they've made something truly special.
