This mix is inspired by the speeches of Dr Martin Luther King and the realisation that 50 years after his death, the black community is still battling injustice. Many of these records represent a political reaction to those injustices and hardships experienced by black communities in Jamaica, and the USA in the 1970s & 1980’s. There has been change but not enough. As recent events prove  And the battle has to go on. 
Music still has an important role to play. I believe passionately in young people and although my generation has largely failed in its attempt to right the wrongs, the next generation carry the hope for all of us. Enjoy.
