Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 9th December: from around midday on Friday you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch348

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept SoundCloud Go tracks, which can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which will be invisible to everyone. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted will also be removed. 

We will publish a special playlist of all the Christmas-related submissions we've received on Christmas Eve -- these will not appear in this playlist or be considered for the Listening Post.

Self Destruction Survives  
 While rising above the darker days which his stage name implies, Los Angeles’ Self Destruction utilized his life experiences throughout the urban Southern Californian streets to create some of the hottest independent songs in the scene. Each song contains beats as volatile as black gun powder and rhymes as smooth as silk, threatening to blow the roof off the club every time the DJ drops the needle on the vinyl. 

With tracks like “Drug Warz,” “Grand Theft Auto” and his smash-hit single “Smoke Out,” it’s crystal clear where Self Destruction is coming from. For those seeking another taste of that bumpin’, West coast style gangster hip hop, this is your ticket.

West coast hip hop has been a powerful force in the hip hop industry for years, especially in the late 80's and early 90's with those hard core heavy bangin' west coast beats!  However, there hasn't been much that has been coming to the forefront from the west coast.  So what does the west coast hip hop scene have to offer as of late?

Enter the scene of Marcos Rawles, aka Self Destruktion!  This kat straight out of Los Angeles is bringing back that swagger of west coast hip hop in his music, while still keeping true to his own art.

Self Destruktion has been rapping for years, making his presence highly felt in L.A. as well as other cities across the nation.  He spits lyrical content for the mind, and adds that west coast flava that has been desired since it "went to the underground".

Though the single "Smoke Out" has been the elevated track of his music, I heard other tracks that brought about a stronger appeal to me, but to each our own preference right?  The track on his Myspace page, American Dream brings a strong presence and anthem type feel, definitely worth a peep.
