This March, we begin a new year of seasonal compilations with Chillhop Essentials Spring 2021. 

The vibrant instrumental compilation welcomes the warmer weather and the longer days. It is a time of year - perhaps now more than ever - to welcome change and growth and hold on to optimism for the next chapter. With a little over an hour's worth of laid-back bounce, the 26 song project features over 40 producers/musicians and feels like a community.

Much like our Chillhop Raccoon who has booked a creative retreat in an isolated getaway, we suggest you take some time this season to re-energize and recharge and properly blossom like Spring.

Snufmumriko - Proxima Centauri

We are now at episode 8 of the Afternoon Beats. Recorded in Atlanta, US by the very talented producer & beatmaker Kreatev - A well known name in the scene and on the movement. Kreatev is an Atlanta based producer. 

He's also been resided in Los Angeles, CA. This bicoastal relationship gives him the edge on the music that he creates. It's a beautiful mixture of west coast laid back vibes with a dash of southern jazz & funk influence. He delivers chill vibes that'll make anyone nod their head & truly creates music for everyone's enjoyment.

After already releasing two singles together, ‘Golden State’ becomes the third collaboration between the Californian producer Kid Tarô and German artist. Both of them have become growing figures of the lo-fi music scene with certain songs obtaining up to a million streams. This new joint effort, characterised by its dazzling flutes and jazzy mood obtained through the sharp-witted use of trumpets, will make you feel as if you were relaxing in California on a sunny and joyful day.

This release features a new remix of jazz hip hop producer Ol' Burger Beats' 2014 track "Immaculate". The new remix presents one of OBB's best instrumentals to this date, with a beautiful lo-fi hip hop beat, driven by moody electric piano chords and a mellow jazz percussion, the now trademark sound of Ol' Burger Beats. 

Also available on 7" vinyl. The A-side of the vinyl 7" contains the new remix, while the B-side contains a remastered version of the original track (B1) and the new remix instrumental as track B2.
