Here's a recording of a Liveset we did recently. We went to remote place for a few days to work on some music and this came out of it.

Recorded in Lisbon, Winter 2017. I present the first volume of Synthesizer Ditties inspired by a bygone age of witches and wizards, knights and dragons, enchanted swords, haunted graves, sacred forests and regal kingdoms. Recorded almost entirely on a Korg Monologue + spring reverb / LN76 (TR-08 on some ditties also). I've not made the other volumes yet, but when i do, maybe i'll put it out as some sort of expensive compendium or do a limited dubplate run or something else annoying like that? "Celebrating otherness, E B U casts a universe of her own both sonically and visually. Defying any one genre, she refers to her distinct sound as 'Swamp Pop'. Unnatural sounds and pitches exhale in melodic chants, ominous basslines resound and eerie loops fixate in this macabre ensemble. You are captive in her world. Moments of haunting clarity keep you wondering where she will take you next whilst strange narratives unfold. Her chameleonic visual display is charged with emotion, keeping you suspended in a state of flux as she orbits through the spectrum. Stimulated by human behaviour and existence she questions the very nature of being, and invites the audience to explore through her cathartic performance."

To our ears, her sound captures elements of the radiophonic qualities by electronic pioneers such as Delia Derbyshire, through to unlikely melody and harmony akin to that of Ryuchi Sakamoto or Laurie Anderson. 

It's an explorations of strange places with a weird & wonderful sphere, sonically capturing the colourful intensity of Alejandro Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain, or perhaps sounding like a much more out-there, much more convincingly extra-terrestrial Space lady... These are just vague comparisons though... Essentially, her sound is a total world of it's own. 

Hinge, E B U's debut album, is an outer body experience that will conjure up memories you never had before, images you can't quite place but somehow relate to, and a sense of sweet disorientation as you slip into a whirlpool of shapeshifting melody, harmony and frequency.

'Gentle To You When You're Low' taken from the fantastic new album from OCA (@ocaoca). Their first for Métron Records, ‘Aging’ is available on limited edition ’sandwich’ cassette and digital formats.

Following the success of their debut ‘Preset Music’ (as featured in Kelela’s recent aquaphoria mix) the Berlin based duo return with Aging, a 10 track album focusing on the emotions of specific life events, both the mundane and the profound.

From poking stove elements with pencils, to recording the ambience of a teapot, and playing balcony railings, mnk is an album which restlessly re-imagines everyday sounds. FenGi is the moniker of the Turkish sound artist Altuğ Kaptan, and mnk represents his extended examination of the vibratory and the resonant. It is an album which blurs the boundary between object and instrument, at one point Altuğ performs by simply opening and closing doors, at another he reworks recordings of the violin. Altuğ describes himself as someone who ceaselessly records sounds, seeking spontaneous moments amid the everyday. In his debut solo album mnk we discover an artist both courageous and frenetic, who sitting amid the boiling stove pots, and the sliding doors of his home finds music.

Welcome to the new Pluie/Noir podcast series. 8 years after our debut we decided to press the reboot button and return to our roots. With a new format and back to a regular monthly schedule, Pluie/Noir Interscapes will feature audio collages, mixes, live interviews and live recordings from P/N artists, friends, and other collectives we admire.

Because less is more, instead of the usual triptych format, this series will feature one single A3-A1 visual interpretation of the music by a graphic artist. The artwork will be available to purchase in poster format on our rebooted Bandcamp page very soon, with cassettes or CD-r of the mixes as a bonus.

For Interscapes 04 we welcome patient better drivers aka @matteomanzini, the very talented London-based Italian artist behind @wantrecords, with a visual interpretation by a familiar artist to the series, the French artist @julban

Colin is residing in New York and Berlin where he creates a wide range of music and performance pieces designed to expand consciousness, trouble binaries, and play with the boundaries of perception, reaching a broad range of communities using voices, bodies, and computers as tools to interface with biological and technological software.

This mix features acoustic and electronic sounds with focuses 
on nature and human relations, theatrical ambiance with diverse sonic textures throughout. Presenting a ritualistic, and meditative narrative that transcends listeners to a beautiful world Colin creates with many genres of music combined together.
