Heavy Machinery Records is proud to present ’TIE-EE-YIE-EE-YIE-EE-YIME', the stunning debut full length album from Melbourne electronic producer Female Wizard.

Female Wizard has been a stalwart of the Melbourne dance music scene since taking up DJing in 2014. She initially made her mark by gathering and sharing a vast classic house record collection under the name Brooke Powers, playing feature sets at Golden Plains, Dark Mofo and Red Bull Music Academy’s Transliminal, The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and many more.

In 2019, Female Wizard took on her now trademark experimental and innovative DJ style. Exploring the weirder sides of techno, industrial, IDM and more, this style aims to create collective transcendence through powerful sonic immersion. Female Wizard’s debut at a Boiler Room and Discwoman collaborative event was followed by headlining sets at Hybrid Festival and Soft Centre, as well as mixes for Discwoman, and Boiler Room’s Hard Dance mix series. In 2020, Female Wizard made the shift to music production, releasing her first EP 'Messy-Podge-Mania' on local label Anterograde.

"On ALBUM FOUND I set out to find an expression by working with a physical medium, analog tape. I found that the process is less effective and requires patience, acceptance of limitation and a certain loss of control to the ‘will’ of the medium. Nevertheless to me, the outcome is rewarding on both a sonic and personal level. Features like character, presence and tactility in the sound along with a more troubled workflow is the nature of this old technology. Essentially the tape machines offer a landscape of sonic possibilities to explore. All tracks on ALBUM FOUND were discovered somewhere between intention and chance, as I was navigating this abstract space."

ØEN Records are proud to release Hviledag’s upcoming album ALBUM FOUND. The album originates from the reel to reel tape loop-based score he composed for the experimental animation film FILM FOUND directed by Claudia Munksgaard-Palmqvist.

The project is about exploring materiality and physical mediums of sound and film. FILM FOUND and ALBUM FOUND was made in a symbiotic and organic process, simultaneously, influencing each other along the way. As they were working on the film it became clear that the project had tons of sonic potential which is why the score has now been edited and compiled into a full length album.
