Collector of every genre, from jazz to reggae, house to techno, @xelisabeex is fascinated by the sounds of the past as she is by the experimental and quirky waves shaping the future of music.

Moving freely in the flux of unpredictable creativity and constant wide spreading interests, Elisa has been mixing for over 15 years, beginning in her native Sardinia before moving to Milan. Her own productions have been much welcomed by international audiences and artists alike, gaining considerable airplay both on the dancefloor and on the radio. More recently Elisa’s releases have delved into techno and 90s UK rave sounds, with her love for acid driving her exploration.

Although it has slipped from prominence in the current news cycles, Russia's aggression against Ukraine still continues to escalate.

As Ukrainian people are still in urgent need of support, we have come together using the only thing we know how, music.

We asked 21 artists from Futurepast's friends to create a track that keeps Ukraine's situation in mind and results in a compilation that is rather varied. We hear ambient and downtempo right through to more personal and abstract interpretations of techno.

All proceeds will be donated to the Ukrainian charity, Voices of Children, who are supporting children who have lost their parents in this war; the poorest and most helpless victims.

'Spinning Grounds' by @katharina-davids is all about opening grounds for newcomers to spin their music - to explore genres from house, Detroit, dub techno to break beat. This time with special guest @onesrecords

Ones. is a Berlin-based DJ and live act. After starting the label, TMN TRAX, in 2022, he released, in collaboration with co-founder Rasval, the
label's first EP, "Nebelgelb," which featured two remixes by .VRIL and Sleeparchive in February this year. 

In his productions as well as during his DJ performances, Ones. demonstrates a keen sense of sonic aesthetics, consistently keeping the broader scope in mind. While expressing his perception of the unique character of each track, he skilfully delivers forward-thinking Detroit techno, mixed with dub techno elements, framed by systematic minimalism.

EPM Podcast 167 comes from head ‘hydro-tripper’ Black Eyes. Hailing originally from Manchester, in the industrial north of England, Black Eyes has effortlessly relocated to the similarly gritty streets of Berlin, where his raw, trademark sound blends perfectly with the sodium lit concrete environment. His deep, multi-layered techno sound can not only be heard on his own label, Lost Control 2097 but also on his 7 year NTS radio residency and now Balamii radio. But for a man who cites Omar S and Young Marco amongst his key influences, DJing is where you will find him at his best. EPM Podcast 167 captures an emerging global talent coming into his own sound which is perfectly captured here amongst tracks from Rick Wade, Jon Dixon, Paul Johnson, Soulphiction, Glenn Davis, Technoir and a cut from his debut solo EP. 

Whilst excelling as a producer of self-described “Hydro-Trip” which is deep and trippy house, Black Eyes is at heart primarily a DJ, and always will be. His sound is heavily influenced by Detroit producers Mike Huckaby, Walt J, Omar S and Norm Talley as well European DJs like Young Marco and MCDE with their unique mixing styles. These influences shine through both in his sets and in the releases from his own label, LOST CONTROL 2097, most notably heard over a 7 year residency with the infamous NTS radio, more recently Balamii radio, and at the now legendary parties he ran at The White Hotel in Manchester. 

Since moving to Berlin in 2022, he has released Planet People - Terra Firma with Reedale Rise. This is their deep techno + house side project and their debut record is available via Rush Hour. His solo EP ‘Hydro-Trip vol 1’ is out this August on Lost Control 2097 with a remix from Rolando of Los Hermanos / Underground Resistance fame.

Rocco.fx is the man behind Out Records, an independent music label focused on live performances and hardware-made musicians. His publications are on labels around the globe such as Techno Wood Records, Null Records, IWTB, Welcome Records and Triskel Music. He has participated in various audiovisual productions and, when he is not manufacturing his own synthesizers, he works as a music production teacher. 


"In this hybrid set I surfed IDM, Breaks, Broken beats but always with a Dub sonority as a sound identity to caress the ear. I tried to keep the dance energy in balance with the mental one. I used Drum machine on top of the CDJs, a 303 clone and a bunch of my own tracks to make it enjoyable to listen to while walking, with speakers, headphones, working, in the car, etc. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it."

Ilia Slobodchikov, the maestro behind myspacerocket, embarked on his musical odyssey in the pulsating heart of Moscow's ARMA17, a colossal warehouse where the fusion of deep bass, eccentric synths, and massive visual installations ignited his passion for techno. From deep and minimal house to the diverse spectrum of raw techno, Ilia's musical journey has been one of constant evolution and discovery. His relocation from Sydney to Melbourne was not just a change of scenery but a deliberate move towards a city that resonates with his musical soul, proving that music and art are not just parts of his life but the essence of his happiness.

Despite the competitive scenes in Moscow and Sydney, it was in Melbourne that Ilia found the personal time, space, and community to refine his craft.
