Born in Germany with French origin, @mariemontexier's preferred format as a DJ is vinyl, a crucial part of why she began DJing and collecting music. 

Curious about genres and styles, multi-eclectic influences informs her sound. Her sets, mainly based on breakbeat and big on UK flavour, are global melting pots where genres and edges blur; oldskool acid, tribal-scented beats and trippy techno merge here. Marie brings a twisted quirkiness, lightening up a sometimes harsh-sounding corner of the scene.

Although new in the industry, Marie Montexier’s hard work has not gone by unnoticed: during her debut year of 2019, she was selected “Newcomer of the Year” by German music institution Groove Magazin, an honor for any artist. Since then, Marie went on to play venues across Europe, including the likes of Berghain and Fabric, and currently holds a residency at internationally renowned party Warning, taking place in Berlin.

"This only vinyl mix is a club mix from summer 2021, a time when we had the chance to experience club culture together again. Usually I’m more into breaks, bass and techno but here I bring a lot of power house and acid into the mix. "After working every possible job at EAS and VSA from cleaner, bartender, picker, artist care-person, to making lights and night managing, I finally had my DJ debut in September 2021, playing at the VSA Grand Re-opening. It felt so meaningful to be able to share with the dancefloor the ridiculous amount of time I’ve put into digging for music! I’m also active with Københavns Frie Promotere, co-representing Ved Siden Af with whom I share a radio show, Get Personal at VSA.

After getting involved with the Copenhagen club scene mid 2010s, I started collecting vinyls and producing five years ago. Vibing with old progressive house and 90s UK house, my collection is kind of like one big pile of housey, quirky, romantic, dreamy, progressive stuff... with basslines that just gets me every time <3 For this mix, I stuck almost exclusively to my UK influence. And if the listener finds just a tiny bit of the meaning that I’ve put into it, mission accomplished!
