For this new installment of the ABSCAST mix series, we introduce Inglawt, a young Cuban artist from Havana.

With already some successful releases under his belt in labels like Green Fetish, Thump Out Traxx or our very own Abstraction this artist is making some serious waves around the globe. His sound is a combination of several influences taking elements from EBM, Heavy Metal, Punk and Old School Trance. He also teams up with Gøwther in the studio to give life to IR00049 another promising project. 

As a DJ he have been resident of the acclaimed raves Pure Techno in Havana before the Pandemic. In his DJ sets we can appreciate the influences that he merge in his productions as well.

They started their creative career separately, but ten years later in St. Petersburg they joined forces and created Sub Imperium.

Over the past two years, the band has been actively writing music, developing and honing the skill of creating their own unique dark style, which is a powerful techno with EBM elements. Using different sounds, sequences and synthesis in combination with a traditional DJ set, using a drum machine, various synthesizers, a controller and a laptop at performances - with this they manage to create a unique and powerful symbiosis of hybrid live, multiplied by three times the crazy return that comes from the fascinated and faithful public particular.

@exilles is a project born from the alchemy of two minds, united by a common desire to undermine, compose and recompose raw, corrosive and dreamy sounds with a mystical and enigmatic imagery. They strictly perform live, orchestrating ancestral ceremonies with analog machines and modular synthesizers, whose dark and hypnotic sounds chase the persistent in a synesthetic atmosphere.

With their techno built around the polarity of light and darkness, black and white, continuously keeps us poised between opposites, between consciousness and raving.

After years of experience of residency as LiveAct/DjSet among European Techno scene with other alias, they release the first ep as Exilles on Involve Records, followed by other ep’s on A.R.T.S, Planet Rhythm, Persistence and their own Genau Recordings. They performed Live in different Clubs like Smolna, Griessmuehle, Fabrik and more.

MERVH is Techno DJ and Producer from Turkey. Currently based in Warsaw, Poland. She started her career in 2018 where she was a resident in an underground club called Luzztro in Warsaw. Since then she has been doing more gigs in & around Poland, Ukraine. Performed at Instytut Rave Arena, Asid Festival, Lebendig Showcase in Poland. Supported artists such as: SNTS, Inhalt Der Nacht, Hadone & Tham. 
Prefers in music is more industrial, dark techno. In the beginning of 2020, MERVH started to produce her own music. She released tracks for VA's and had cooperation with labels from France, Germany and UK.  In 2021 March, she made her debut with a 3 track digital EP “SELEM” backed with the Polish label "Behind The Stage". MERVH is currently working on her next EP.

A testament to the growth of Adam Beyer’s scene-leading label, Drumcode annual A-Sides Vol.8 is the brand’s biggest yet.

The 25-track strong compilation features standout cuts Beyer has received over the last 12 months, but been unable to find room for in Drumcode’s regular release schedule, such is the volume and high standard of music that’s submitted.

The highlight-rich compilation includes Jamie Jones & Darius Syrossian’s buzzy Drumcode debut ‘Eyes of the Night’, Nicole Moudaber’s first DC release in 5 years with the mesmerizing ‘This Is Us’, Will Clarke’s bass-drenched re-work of Adam Beyer & Bart Skils ‘Your Mind’ and Joey Beltram’s first Drumcode release in 11 years with the retro-tinged ‘Can You Feel It’. 

The beloved Alan Fitzpatrick returns to the fold with the searing ‘Heiße Rakete’, alongside label mainstays Layton Giordani, who drops the stirring chord-driven ‘Chrome’ and Wehbba with ‘Mantra’, combining techno classicism with future-focused groove.

There’s a troupe of debutants donning the Drumcode jersey for the first time, including BEC, Shelley Johannson, Anthony Castaldo, Avision, Zimmz, Woo York, SAMA (in a terrific collaboration with Secret Cinema) and Ilija Djokovic, who delivers a shimmering highlight with ‘Aura’, a particular favourite of Beyer’s over the last year. Raxon also debuts on the label after a couple of quality additions to the Truesoul back catalogue.

Exciting young guns Weska and Juliet Fox bring heat to the compilation, while Veerus and Timmo follow up strong DC releases with a repeat dose. Elsewhere faithful contributors Ramon Tapia, Jay Lumen, Luca Agnelli, Marco Bailey and Mark Reeve craft powerful dancefloor weapons.

Hailing from Spain, Dok & Martin (otherwise known as Victor Salvador and Adrian Martinez) have been building a solid catalogue of incendiary techno bombs for some of the best international labels such as Codex, AnalyticTrail and Phobiq, among many others.  

With previous support from the likes of Maceo Plex, Alan Fitzpatrick and Joseph Capriati, their arrival onto Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint if of no surprise, and on the ‘Raw Metal’ EP, the duo deliver a trio of intoxicating tracks.

Bruising yet funky, ‘Raw Metal’ thumps like the very best of them, whilst ‘Let’s Go Now’ leans on a simple organ refrain and effervescing acid motif to accompany its spirited rhythm.  ‘Funky Blow’ closes the show, with a brooding, rave inflected monster!
