As a proper warm-up to our first ever Dekmantel Festival São Paulo 2017 adventure in February, we've asked five Brazilian locals for a mini mix-series we'll be hosting in the upcoming months.

Marcío Vermelho is known as a DJ with history of good taste and eclecticism. Vermelho has gained a large following in Brazil through the years and is resident of his party, ODD. As a huge fan of house and disco music, his style includes lots of genres, including house, disco, acid, italo and loads more. We're happy to have the talented Vermelho joining our São Paulo mini mix-series for already our third podcast. Heavy housing on this one, big tip!

2021 has started and the vaccine arrival brings new hope. To keep our interchange during this waiting period we are launching our little private radio channel, Tropicaldo Sonoro! With the objective of connecting you with other DJs that we admire so much.  

We’ve invited some of the great names in the electronic music scene, both national and international, to present musical sets filled with hidden relics that bring sound catharsis to all listeners. Musical sets will be shared at Tropicals profile every two weeks inside the SoundCloud Platform. 

Opening night guest is our great Latin American friend from Bueno Aires, straight across Rio da Prata (Prata river): Harari (@hararimusic)! Awesome musical explorer, vinyl collector, and one of the founders of the renowned High Life (@highlifebsas), Multicultural platform focused on music, art, and shows.

"For this mix, I have selected some synth influenced + early dance-floor songs. From Italian Screen music to French Boogie, from Prince's Pop mixed with Lonnie Liston Smith’s Jazz Funk to some early Rap and Garage House. 

For me, the unity between genres and styles in a mix is the real challenge. Being able to make unity from many different expressions is what moves me to do this type of mixes. For the last part, you can find some proto-latino-house with some more actual productions challenging the limits between epochs.
