Phantom Acres is a house in the woods on the side of the road that leads from Hout Bay up to Constantia Nek in Cape Town. The setting and name of the house always captured my imagination, and this song is the result. This is a remake of an earlier version, but I think I've captured the right feel for the song finally :-)

I wrote this song for Brian Wilson over 20 years ago. This is a newly remixed version. Its my One Man Beach Boy Band tribute to Brian, a man who is a true musical genius of his time, and who has been a huge influence on my musical life. This was written as a huge thanks to him for bringing such amazing harmony into my life

Good Morning Brian

Another collaboration with my long time musical partner and friend, Selwyn Schneider.

 Recently on going through his old cassettes, I pulled out this old song, Fantasy Fair, written by around 1979. Selwyn helped rewrite the chorus. It was inspired by the funfair that traditionally appears on Hampstead Heath over the Easter.

The cassette was the only copy of this song, the master recording having been lost years ago, and the quality was really awful, but the song was definitely worth reviving and giving another breath of life.

Selwyn went to work recording a backing track and backing vocals in his studio in Cape Town and he sent a copy to London where I recorded the lead vocals in my studio. I then sent the vocals back to Selwyn where he mixed and produced the final version.

Who We Are

This is the first completely solo song I have done for some time. Leaning towards Prog Rock, it was originally an unfinished instrumental piece, and gradually developed into this song. All recorded and produced in my home studio
