This is the ninth episode of the Pi Electronics show on Stegi Radio, featuring a recorded dj mix by dj and producer, Hurtado.   

Hurtado is a young Spanish artist based in Berlin. After almost 10 years in the scene, his musical proposal can be defined as a symbiosis between past and future, highly influenced by the Birmingham and Eastern European scene, full of broken and forceful rhythms. As a producer, he has collaborated with the likes of Regis and together with one of his best allies, UVB, he forms the duo "Education Club".

Learning his craft between his native Lisbon and the London warehouse scene, Simik has been evolving for more than a decade while cultivating the sound of Klub Verboten as resident DJ and booker; handpicking talents SORAYA & TSUNIMAN to join him as residents on the KV rotation. Over the last six years he’s shared the booth with artists such as Amotik, Dasha Rush, Henning Baer, Shinedoe, Stephanie Sykes, Tasha, Volvox and Ø [Phase], amongst others.

Classically trained from a young age, his groove-led sets are slick and subtle, carefully balancing tension and release by weaving harmoniously through a wide range of musical sounds.

PREMIERE: Fonzo - Magia Negra [Cosmic Wave Records]

Mary Yuzovskaya’s Monday Off rounds out 2025 with its eighth vinyl-only various artists compilation, arriving 12th December, featuring Feph, Rasser, Mathys Lenne, and Xhato. Opening the record is Florida’s Feph, co-operator of Alchemista Records and Zosimos, with ‘A Realization’, where wild electric currents crackle over a subtle, sharp beat as shocks and zaps scatter into the darkness. Spanish DJ and producer Rasser follows with ‘Constant Pulse’, a hulking techno chugger of warped rhythms and hammering metallic hits. On the flip, France-born Germany-based Mathys Lenne, known for outings on Mord, ORBE, and Blue Hour, oﬀers ‘A Gentle Singularity’, its tumbling percussion and drone-like synth casting a hypnotic spell while sparkling high-end shimmers above. Previous Monday Oﬀ contributor Xhato then closes with ‘Lemon Swirl’ , a mystical finisher where soft sequences snake through brooding ambience, providing a guiding light as the kick drum marches resolutely. Launched while working at the now-closed Brooklyn record store Halcyon The Shop in 2017, Mary Yuzovskaya’s Monday Oﬀ has since become a home for hypnotic excellence on wax, matching her own reputation as a formidable vinyl-only DJ and Techno producer. Across its now eighteen releases, the label has featured the likes of Blazej Malinowski, D-Leria, Milena Glowacka, ORBE, Soramimi, Viels, and Yuzovskaya herself, with each release continuing to cement her reputation as one of the genre’s most trusted curatorial voices.

Dutch techno producer Troy (@troy_techno), born and based in The Hague, has long been a steady presence in the deeper realms of contemporary techno. Known for his timeless sound on labels such as Klockworks, Non Series, and KEY Vinyl, Troy continues to explore the intersection of raw energy and refined sound design.

Function's Infrastructure New York now welcomes Troy with his first Double EP 'Echoes of Ancient Life' — a profound excavation of both his past and the evolving trajectory of his sonic identity.

Composed entirely with the OB-6, the release channels inspiration from ancient and forgotten civilizations — their echoes resonating through layers of analog warmth and hypnotic repetition. Across these 8 tracks, Troy constructs a continuum between the mystical and the mechanical: deep, tunneling synth lines, evolving textures, and precise rhythmic flow.

From the slower beginnings to the more uptempo and propulsive closing chapters, Echoes of Ancient Life maintains a firm gaze on the dancefloor while delving into the archeology of sound. Recorded at Pollux Studios in The Hague, this release captures the timeless spirit of techno — both as a ritual and as a forward-moving force.

Ushering in the next series of 10 releases on Horo and an all new look is the introduction of a new Horo artist signing - Lemna, collaborating with an artist who has become integral to the Horo sound - Sam KDC. Together Lemna and Sam KDC are Ourea, and Ourea I is an amalgamation of their two very singular approaches to electronic music. Polyrhythmic experimental techno with tribal rhythms that often operate at two different tempo’s at the same time, Ourea I is deceptive in it’s percussive shapeshifting, but strongly effective in the hands of the right DJ.

After the three-track Time Enough At Last, Antigone returns with Ostinato for TOKEN75. As a project, the record is thematically accurate, adhering to its title’s suggestion on both sides. The tracks play with layering techniques, gradually building a spectrum of sound around their respective persistent motifs. Antigone shifts these insistent base elements, allowing them the foreground before masking within a blend of carefully processed and organic-sounding details. 
 
Ostinato 1 is mild and disconcerting, with strings that verge on unnatural in their high pitch. Ostinato 2 is more traditionally dramatic, the space this time filled with keys that follow the ongoing theme, building to an ostentatious crescendo reminiscent of the roots of trance.
