Toronto-born SENAIDA (pronounced “Shuh-nay-duh”) is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist, sound architect, DJ, curator, creative entrepreneur, cyberfeminist and futurist. Their work explores the intersections of art, emerging technologies, and sustainability to create collective liminal experiences. As the founder and resident DJ of WE ARE THE FUTURE!, an underground interdisciplinary collective and curated art party in NYC, SENAIDA brings innovation to the forefront. 
Their sound is characterized by asymmetrical song structures and futuristic sonic textures, taking inspiration from a range of genres that span industrial techno to early ambient works. In 2022, they achieved major success with the release of their first NFT/sonic collection, THE NOTHING IN BETWEEN, selling out within 48 hours.

In this dynamic follow-up to their 'Do You Even Acid?' compilation launched in 2020, queer-led Pacific Northwest label OBSKUR serves up a high-powered sampler of acid-laced tracks that embody the diversity of 2024's underground scene.

It kicks off with Seattle-based DJ/producer Mirin Doja's 'Golden,' remixed by LA dynamo Maude Vôs, a dreamy, downtempo bass-heavy vibe with crystalline trance elements. AWood's energetic 'Orbit' squeezes together a pulsing beat and hyperactive bassline with glowy synth pads, while 'Rave Therapy' by Delusional Records co-founder Marie Nyx cures what ails with classic four to the floor united with high-energy rave synths. Hammering kicks and trippy basslines pervade LA's CRTR's psytrance-infused workout 'Back Up,' followed by 'Eat That' by Chicago founder and co-head of Dark Heaven, Vorp, which takes us on a shadowy, complex acid journey dripping with bass and breaks.

Next up is Calgary DJ Byron Ferrari's 'Sunnyslope,' moody, raw and melodic with an irresistible 303 groove. International powerhouse Ani Klang's collaboration with NYC creative Senaida on 'Mutual Destruction' is a take-no-prisoners banger full of breakneck hard edged acid. The collection closes with Sanctum's introspective 'The Craft,' which pulls together a driving hypnotic bass groove and subtle psychedelic atmospheres.

'Do You Even Acid?' Volume 2 is an uplifting and electrifying compilation of dancefloor heaters from OBSKUR's worldwide network of women, queer*, and POC artists.

NAAMAA, a devoted disciple of Techno whose journey began on the dancefloor. Rooted in Detroit founding Techno and evolving into Teknocraft, she celebrates witchy, hypnotic rituals and sound minimalism within subconscious and dramatic soundscapes with Techno as a primordial unifying force. Originally from Tunisia and now based in Greece, NAAMAA has found freedom in music, first as a raver, then as a DJ. For her, Sound and Techno specifically hold the key, every performance is a mass and every DJ set is an invitation to daydream and dance with no illusion of separation.

The Hakka (客家) people are a Chinese ethnic group originating from Northern China, but who migrated South to during the fall of the Song dynasty in the 1270s. "Hakka" literally means "Guest People", as to distinguish them from the natives (本地), and because the Hakka never fully assimilated into the native population. Later on, Hakka people migrated further to Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and as far as Jamaica. They brought with them their own culture, food, language, and sense of nomadic openness. Over the past 7 months, I feel I have developed a much deeper relationship with my Hakka identity as I have been solo travelling across the globe. Everywhere I go, I am treated like a guest, and whenever people ask me where I'm from, it's hard to give one distinct answer.   This mix explores migration as a continuous process of identity-building, specifically among the Hakka diaspora. By blending interviews that I conducted with the Hakka diasporic community, ambient nature sounds from regions where the Hakka people have lived, and some of my favourite tracks to listen to while travelling, this mix serves as a medium to highlight the interconnectedness of the Hakka people's shared experiences.

This is the second time I had been confronted by the sudden death of someone close to me this year, and in these moments I feel like retreating into myself. But I am reminded of how grateful I am to live a single day more. Life is so fleeting, and we must carry this heaviness which is an awareness to how precious life truly is. Death is our true return to the soft and the sublime. Yet, it is always within us, just barely out of reach. This mix is dedicated to our beloved classmate and friend, Howard Haotian Wang, who was the most passionate, kind and loving soul.”
