It was all that god damn Beastie Boys karaoke, that's where the Senators started.
That's what led to all the drunken freestyles we'd ramble out while stumbling down the street at five in the morning. And those hip-hop based inside jokes we would tell each other at work (which never failed to piss off our boss). That was when we realized that nobody really makes the kind of hip-hop that we want to hear, so we decided that we'd just have to do it ourselves; we decided we're gonna step up, take a shot at runnin' the game and not look back, and called ourselves the Senators.
What we're aiming for is a modern, more lyrical take on the old school traditions which have been largely forgotten; trade-offs, storytelling, and mainly just having fun, without having to mention how many girls we've banged or how much money we have (although the latter would not take long at all, seeing as we don't have any).
At the present, we're hot off the heels to releasing our first EP, and writing towards our second full-length release. Slappin' some gigs and merchandise together as well! So thanks for coming, thanks for reading, thanks for puttin' an ear out for us. We really, really appreciate it.
