Why Is It So Hard [Rothbarth Edit]

The “Time Is A Slice Of Forever” EP by Niju represents our first ever original film soundtrack release on  the Kiosk ID label. 

To a certain extent at least, you just have to imagine the film that fits to this music. If you were, for a  moment, to shun all the flickering screens around us by closing your eyes and allowing the images of said  movie to dance on the inside of your retinas. 

Euclidean Street(Original): 
Our protagonist is struggling through a thick forest. The sun breaks through the sparse interruptions in  the foliage, illuminating the path, radiating the way. Covered in sweat, our protagonist smiles despite his  labours knowing the sun is patient. 

Piano Lesson - Black Pearl Mix: 
He has reached the edge of the forest. An enchanted moor stretches off to the horizon. Pink blossoms  scratch at the clouds. They smell like coffee and honey. The shoes are heavy – we move in slow motion.  The king of the moors – the vainest toad in the world wearing a turquoise Fedora – shows us the way.  Someone turned the fog machine up to 11.
 
Corners of my Dreams (Original): 
He can finally move on solid ground again and runs toward the sun with a spring in his step. Someone  throws him a white towel. It is the softest in the world, washed with the finest fabric softener of all time - the tears of joy of young koala bears. 

Ocean Drive (Original): 
A short rest in a wood-paneled restaurant. Inside, desert air moves gently, even though it is cold outside.  He ponders this as he orders a mellow whisky - after the third glass he understands. 

Piano Lesson (Ninze RMX): 
He goes to sleep, dreaming of hotel towels. Visions of young koala bears sunk in a pillow fight - in majestic  slow motion.  

Corners of my dreams (Rampue version 5.0): 
The koala bears have had some coffee and are giving our protagonists fitness tips. In order to make it to  the goal, he has to do cardio. The oldest of the young koala bears gives him his prized sweat band as a  parting gift.

Finally arriving at his destination, our protagonist sorts out his conquests: the encrusted shoes, koala Bear  headbands, soft towels and a bottle of the mellow whisky. He leans back, opens the bottle and whispers  quietly: What an adventure!

AVEM - You, again (MLC003)

Some songs are like lumps of clay that first need to be carefully mined, then shaped and finally fired so that a vase can be made out of them.

Other songs come out of nowhere and it's like waking up to find a vase in front of you.

This remix is one of the latter. After I was close to despair on the day of creation, because I was deep in a writer's block and already wanted to give up, I started a new project and within 30min I found all the sounds and had already roughly arranged the song.

After a short coffee break, it occurred to me that the song could use a vocal. Another 10min later the remix was already in the can.

If only it was always that easy. 

A short time later I sent the song to @dorianfecht to hear what he thinks of it. Because the song passed the Stiftung-Dorian-Test, he took the song to the 
Rotkehlchenfestival, which was an absolute premiere for me, because It was the first time, that I had the chance to listen to one of my songs on a quite big soundsystem with such a wonderful crowd in front.

A small step that meant the world to me at that moment.

Through social media, the song also found its way to @elizentheemperor, who played the song at Fusion 2021.

I couldn't have imagined it when I started producing.

And that's the beauty of it. You do what you love, don´t overthink shit for some minutes and that can lead to others having a good time, or being able to let their minds wander for a moment, like yours did.... wonderful.

Thanks to all who have already supported the song up to here and shook their legs on dancefloors, or patiently waited for the release.

The song reflects one perspective, that I feel close to and I would appreciate if we all, spent some time, shamelessly reflecting and proving what we believe in, if there‘s something more to our beeing on earth and that we confront the feeling of us as humans, just beeing dust in this, so called chaos of life.

Time passes, and the people of Ukraine continue to suffer from the Russian war of aggression. We feel obliged not to watch this cruelty wordlessly and idly. The senseless violence emanating from Russia is condemned by us in the strongest possible terms.

With Pieces for Peace we want to show that we as a community are aware of the people in Ukraine and that their suffering is not unseen. But from this we also want to be able to contribute to the relief efforts. In order to use it efficiently, all the proceeds of the campaign will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which is tirelessly at work, whether in the humanitarian or diplomatic field.

The compilation will only be available for two weeks. After that, all collected proceeds from it will be donated to the ICRC.

All artists are offering their contribution to this EP without any financial compensation.

-- Inspirationsquellen? --

Die wohl inspirativste Quelle zu Beginn des Projekts „Träume Atmen“, entstand durch die Wahrnehmung natürlicher Klänge wie das Gezwitscher der Vögel beim Sonnenaufgang am Sonntagmorgen.  Gemeinsam mit der Erinnerung, an die wundersamen Klänge der quietschenden Schaukel auf dem Spielplatz, die ich nach einer durchfeierten Nacht gerne besuchte, entstand die Idee.  Warum nicht versuchen, die natürlichen Klänge des Vogelgezwitschers, in Einklang, mit dem mechanischen Quietschen der metallenen Schaukel, zu bringen. Gemeinsam mit der synthetischen Klangerzeugung schloss ich mich ein paar Nächte ein und skizzierte das Zusammenspiel, natürlicher und menschlich erzeugter mechanischer Klänge. 


-- Wie lief die Zusammenarbeit ab? --

Schon zu unserer Studizeit haben wir in dem hessischen Örtchen Marburg das ein oder andere Bier geteilt. Nach einem spontanen Besuch im Studio und dem gemeinsamen Lauschen von vorhandenen ersten Skizzen von Jolasol, waren wir Feuer und Flamme weitere Ideen zu einem würzigen Süppchen zusammen zu kochen. In den darauffolgenden Wochen fanden weitere Entwürfe ihren Weg zwischen Leipzig und Berlin. Ende Oktober war es dann endlich soweit und wir schlossen uns im Studio von unserem Kumpel Arne Spremberg (Danke Diggi!) in einer Platte irgendwo in Berlin- Marzahn mit Bier und Süßkram ein. Dort bekam das Baby den letzten Feinschliff und Vocals verpasst. 


-- Was soll der Track ausdrücken? --

Wie der Name "Träume atmen" schon verrät, soll der Track ein Gefühl des Möglichen in einem Raum geistiger Freiheit ausdrücken. Oh, hey! Bock auf ne kleine Safari? Umgeben von einer Soundcollage mit Dschungel- Character, einfach mal loslassen und wie King Loui an einer Liane davon schwingen.
Lasst uns Träume atmen oder unsere Träume atmen lassen!

My first job wish was to become a pensioner. 

After playing a few instruments, I stumbled upon producing music and immediately fell in love with it.

Grateful to have finally overcome the producer's disease of never finishing projects, I started to release my music in autumn 2021.  

I usually feel home in slower spheres, but tend to evolve in faster genres as well.
 
My DJ sets are mostly faster and above 100bpm, mainly in the genres of Funk, Disco, Indie Dance and Techhouse.
