In this episode, hosts Mike and Andrea speak with Doreen Jakubcak and Debbie Williamson from Marty's Place: Senior Dog Sanctuary.

Doreen Jakubcak is the Founder and Executive Director of Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.  She is responsible for the planning, design and overall operations and management of the organization.  Prior to Marty’s Place, Ms. Jakubcak held
senior level, volunteer positions in another non-profit organization.  She also held senior level positions in the technology industry where she was responsible for managing and building teams to meet business goals.  Ms. Jakubcak has a BSIE from Rutgers University.

Four years ago, after over three decades in a nursing career where she worked in hospital, mental health, and homecare as a hospice nurse, Debbie began volunteering with Marty’s Senior Dog Sanctuary. She's always been an animal lover and has had the most wonderful pets over the years, not to mention the neighborhood strays she can’t help but care for. At Marty’s, she loved spending time with the quirky cast of pups whose joy could not be contained by age or circumstance. In 2022, she became a full-time employee as the Pet Assistance Coordinator, working to provide financial support to seniors so that they can keep their beloved pets in their homes.
