After over a year on dub as one of the most anticipated forthcoming releases on Force Recordings, SenseNet’s return to the imprint arrives in the form of ‘We Will Reprogram’ & ‘You Were My Ghost”.

Staying true to her love of storytelling and atmospheric textures, SenseNet’s ‘We Will Reprogram’ is sure to transport listeners to another realm. Her new track continues the tradition of heady 90’s dance music that wasn’t afraid to take its time in order tell an epic story. Starting off the journey with the calm before the storm, you’re led along the way with entrancing slide guitars winding around needle point breaks on top of a warm bed of sub-bass that underpins the first movement of this 10 minute opus. Fan’s of SenseNet’s music will know, however, that it’s all a ruse, and ruffness is coming in a BIG WAY. And just when you think you’ve hit the the heaviest turbulence, at 7 minutes in she drops 32 bars of pure drum ‘n bass indulgence, leaving you breathless at the drop! Fans of ‘We Will Reprogram’ who’ve been bubbling for its release need wait no longer.

Moving from strength to strength, ‘You Were My Ghost’ on the flip backs up the release with more of what SenseNet’s known for; Storytelling. One of her greatest assets as a producer is her ability to envision a theme, weave vocal samples into a complex story and then build a structure of complex breakbeats, emotional pads, strings and atmospheres around that theme. Here you’re taken on an emotional trip that slowly builds from the very beginning, getting more and more intense with each bar, culminating in a beautiful ambient breakdown. But she won’t let you settle in for too long, shaking your headspace after the drop with her trademark complex drum programming and poignant vox samples.

I’m joined this edition in the @phevertvradio studio with @danu__dj for a Jungle selection 🔥🔥🔥

D’anu is a multi-genre DJ from Galway with a love of jungle, breakbeats, footwork and bass. She started mixing records during lockdown and played her first DJ sets last year at Galway’s Community Skratch Games and Cork’s Evolution DnB night (on two occasions), supporting junglists Tamen and San. She has since played twice at Electric Picnic - last year at Trenchtown’s Revelation Soundsystem and this year at the new Croí Main Stage, where she played several vinyl sets over the weekend. 2023 has been a busy year so far and D’anu has played at events including Cork’s Dose night as guest DJ, Galway’s Téigh Síos and FYE nights, Jus Me’s Brú night (Cork) and a Fundraiser for Women’s Aid in Dublin. Last month she headlined the sold-out Galway Pride Gig at Áras na nGael and played at All Together Now Festival 2023. Next up are several radio shows and gigs in both Galway and Dublin

Refuge Mix 001 - Mixed By Kay-S

SenseNet (Cheney) is a female DJ/ Producer based out of Asheville, NC USA with roots in the Florida electronic music scene. In 2019 she released her first single “Past Gift” on Force Recordings, with a follow-up remix of Airstrike’s “Limerence” in early 2020. Later this year she’ll be releasing her first collab single with her partner and fellow producer, A1-Voodoo on Force Recordings. Most recently you can find her track “With You” on Repertoire’s compilation album “Streetlight Vol. 1” set for release in July of 2020. Coming up in 2021, she has her first release on Tuff Love Dubs, a contemporary jungle label exclusively releasing on 10” vinyl dubplates. She’s also written a special charity track, “What You Said”, with all proceeds benefiting The King Foundation to help promote racial equality here in America and abroad. 

As a DJ, she’s heavily influenced by the Industrial genre (Trent Reznor, Nitzer Ebb, Jackyl & Hyde) & classic artists like Herbie Hancock, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. She loves going from atmospheric jungle to hard-hitting amens, then back into dark & ominous two-step vibes. Taking cues from the mixing styles of Doc Scott, Coco Bryce, and Sonic, she doesn’t limit her sets to any particular era, and you might hear her mix a classic jungle track by Omni Trio or LTJ Bukem, alongside current releases from Dom & Roland, Blocks & Escher, and Seba.

She has a degree in Fine Art and has been playing piano for 35 years with a foundation in classical theory, which continues to be the corner stone on which she writes her own music. In the future, she plants to start her own label “Subsong”, focusing on Space Ambient music containing synth heavy textures and soundscapes, a style that you can hear echoed throughout her DNB compositions.

You can find her every Friday night on Twitch where she's been DJ'ing a weekly DNB stream "Straylight Sessions" since 2018 along with her partner as a way to keep the scene and history of Jungle alive and well here in the states. Through playing classic tracks and educating viewers about the full 25+ year span of this culturally rich and sonically diverse genre, they love sharing their knowledge and passion for the music with old and new fans alike.
