Hamburg-based producer Carbon returns to Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds label with two fat slices of melodic techno. Riewert Petersen is the man behind the moniker, a renowned producer and live act that has released a slew of well received tracks on the likes of Alula Tunes, Dark Face Recordings, Subios Records, Dense Audio, Moonbootique and many others. Here on Senso, the ecstatic Free Your Head brings his signature, taut techno sound back into focus. The track somehow balances pure adrenaline with a sense of suave restraint - a huge dancefloor moment in the making. Don’t Wanna Sleep also treads a similarly euphoric path - a pulsating bassline sets the tone before firing percussion, a slick vocal sample and various synth lines provide the drama.

On remix duties @SpeakerHoney goes all deep techno on us, stripping things back, while maximising the energy levels. Big bass, big beats, big stuff!

Techno's secret weapon @GIGEE closes out the EP with a monster remix of Skyscraper. Bringing a full-bodied, deep experience into the mix with her incredible production. 

To round us off nicely, BOHO & Mr. Bizz deliver 'Back To The Rhythm', a menacing and dirty slab of goodness. Gritty noses, a fierce bassline, all doing the do here!

Premiere: BOHO - Love Affair (Khainz Remix) - Jannowitz Records

The highly prolific Maksim Dark returns to Senso with a slamming 4 track EP of hard-hitting techno. The opener and EP title Music Train sets the tone - thick, snarling synths and a driving, powerful groove punctuated with precise percussion and fills. Razor is just as effective - a rolling bassline carries the groove before Dark’s trademark tight drums add to the sense of propulsion. Layered on top come a familiar detuned vocal and slices of metallic synth stabs. Magento is even more urgent, employing a simpler sound palette but upping the ante with a wobbling bass and drums that hit hard. Last up is Atomizer, which completed this late night quartet of techno rollers.
Dark turns the screw, dropping a tightly-wound cut of high tension and restrained euphoria.

Carlo Ruetz, the Rostock bred DJ and producer whose career exploded around a decade ago, returns to Senso with a four-tracker of blistering, impactful techno. Title track Proton, leads the charge - a high octane cut built around an unhinged bassline and ferocious percussion. It’s a sure
fire party starter, as is the rest of the EP. X1 starts as a chugging groover, before slowly unfurling into a gnarly example of contemporary techno. Next up is the aptly titled Twisted, which grows
into a monster cut through acidic basslines and an insistent, hypnotic groove. Last but not least is The Edge, another example of Ruetz’s skills in expertly leading a dancefloor. Taking the signature
sound design he has become celebrated for, the track finds a tension and release that will go over big with DJs of many persuasions this year.

The ever dependable Senso Sounds returns with a four-track sampler of new music from four artists you really need on your radar.

Senso Sounds Level 10 showcases some of the essentials sounds that make up techno right now, kicking off with the irrepressible ANDATA - otherwise known as Dennis and Max from Hamburg. The pair cook up
a heady mix of snarling beats and bass for Backroom, layered with a vocal sample summing up the late night vibe. As they describe it;  “The idea for the track came during a long night of partying with a completely overcrowded backstage. 

Our friends and family were all there and we partied to dark techno until the early morning. Afterwards we went straight into the studio and formed the track Backroom out of a moogy bassline and driving grooves. The vocal describes our experience perfectly and rounds off the energetic Techno track”.

Next up is Hiago Pauli from Krakow, Poland, with Acidente - a tough, driving piece of electronic machine music that will hit hard at peak time. It’s no wonder the track fits the label so well, as Hiago explains; “This track was created thinking about the Senso sound, studying and focusing on what would be ideal for the label. I tested the track on the dance floor, at my residency at Prozak 2.0 in Krakow, checking the response and tweaking the track over time as necessary”.

Leipzig’s Aio also contributes a track here - Farang - which dails into the celebrated producer’s signature tense and euphoric techno. Aio’s releases on labels like Stil vor Talent, Parquet Recordings, Dense Audio and KE//ER gave a hint of his versatility, and this release here bears all his trademarks.

Completing the release is Mike Clark aka LEKTRK, the Melbourne-based DJ and producer with a string of fine releases to his name. His contribution is Bump, “a chuggy club banger. This track has a pulsating baseline, an infectious thud guaranteed to cause your toes to tap and head to nod. This baseline is complemented with an assortment of grinding acid notes that are sprinkled throughout the track, laid in such a way as to give it a futuristic air. It's complex and dark enough to keep its edges sharp, yet versatile and groovy enough that it
will get a run on any good Techno playlist."

Roman Adam returns to Senso Sounds after dropping his debut EP
"Elevate" in May. The two tracks here are perfectly primed for Oliver
Huntemann´s label - displaying an edgy, muscular techno that sits snugly
with the Senso aesthetic. Title track She Said is an energetic journey
from start to finish, made up of a driving bassline, powerful synth stabs,
and hypnotic vocals - resulting in a certified peaktime techno weapon.
BTW is cut from the same cloth - razor sharp sounds and an interlocked
groove built around driving percs and bubbling, pressurized synths that
make it a sure fire dance-floor winner.
