For his second outing on Senso Sounds, Brazilian DJ / producer Alex Stein drops the Maelstrom EP. Senso is home to all things techno, lovingly curated by label boss Oliver Huntemann, and here Stein unleashes two ferocious tracks that live up the release title. 'Maelstrom' is a driving, lean and mean slice of prime techno goodness. Exhibiting a keen ear for sound design and an
even greater sense for drama and tension, Maelstrom is a big room banger with plenty of subtle edges. Likewise, 'Steep' takes no prisoners - crisp percussion and a thick, propulsive kick start things off, before arpeggiated synths, pads and a killer bass pulse take things to the next level. This is techno stripped to its primal energies, and a marks the next step on what promises to be a
very interesting career for the man from Sao Paulo.
