Timid Boy (named after the character from Calvin and Hobbes) is the chosen moniker of Damien Almira - the French DJ, producer, journalist, party organizer, and hyperactive boss of the label Time Has Changed. With this 3 track EP for Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds, he reaffirms his unwavering love for his brand of techno - slick, powerful and hugely effective.
The Force 2020 is a heads-down party starter - a thick, insistent groove built around minimal elements that results in a trippy, dark banger. Deviation ups the ante with firing percussion and snaking grooves, edging towards a more house sound before throwing in metallic synths that hit hard. Never Enough fits right into the same groove - a thundering kick and bass provide the backdrop for tricky percussion and vocal samples - this is primed for maximum energy on the dancefloor.

BOHO & Paul Feris - NeonGrau (Dani Sbert Remix)

One of the many benefits to Senso Sound’s prolific release schedule is the exposure it allows to new artists alongside the more established names in the scene. Here, Lars Kohl, aka BOHO, drops his first EP for Oliver Huntemann’s label, following on from a handful of releases on his own Jannowitz Records imprint. The Ungeduld EP (‘impatience’ in English) showcases the Cologne based DJ and producer’s talent for no nonsense dancefloor primed techno. Skip The Line kicks off with an urgent groove welded to a gnarly, growling bass synth. Other ravey hits and blips punctuate the track giving it a hardcore edge that yearns for for sweaty clubs. Title track Ungeduld has a similar restless energy, but the groove is a slick, pared-down beast that underpins more unruly synth blasts. Last up is Mint, a slightly deeper groove that exudes a euphoric malevolence through tightly controlled tension and its eventual release.

Senso Sounds Level 08 introduces four new tracks by rising stars that hone in on that special vibe Senso has become synonymous with. First up is Mehmet Özbek, the DJ/Producer from Istanbul. 
Having garnered support from some of the biggest names in the scene, Özbek showcases why he’s held in such high regard - 'Milky Way' is a trippy, firing techno cut that combines subtlety and power in equal measures. 
Likewise, Eme Kulhnek provides a fierce track full of energy and precision. 
'Infinite' highlights why the Argentinian producer has been championed by the likes of Richie Hawtin - a stripped down sound that remains full of detail. 
SEQU3L’s 'Frisbee' is also a track bursting with ideas and passion - its infectious groove hits home from the outset and develops into a true techno roller. 
Hamburg’s own Mørk & Julien Riess complete the quartet of tracks, presenting 'Red Spade' as their contribution. It’s a tightly coiled, trippy techno cut that builds to fever pitch over the course of its
duration.
