Desire To Fly

This work's central theme is 'Unconscious Dream'. It speaks to the concept of time and the bookends that mark either side of one's conscious awareness. By effect, this serves as a model for life itself; the first bookend being birth, the second death. Time passes between each, like the slow descent of a fishing net. We are only ever aware of the start and end because of what's in between. Rosie, Koro, and the sun; symbols of time, light, and awareness.

Silent Fluid

Tiny packets of light. We know them as photons. But really, they are endless streams of mini kisses. This piece tells a story of the journey these bundles take, from the first point of emittance (151.63 million kilometres away), to the final distal point here, upon us. They travel with joy and elation. Anything, or anyone feels mutually the same the very moment they meet.

Day 1: Hanoi to Ninh Binh

The first leg of the trip. Pursuing Vietnam's Northern mountains. It was a feeling of 'at last', on the road. Chasing the open air. I knew there was little for me to expect. But I did know the city would dissipate and open road would soon be guided by big mountains. I looked ahead with eager joy, inhaling exhaust fumes, dust, road-side fires, and remnants of green air.

The concept of the bird stands as an analogy for fleeting moments of emotive visual imagery. These works then, provide the auditory backdrop against which birds soar in the blue-domed aviary.
