The city had long since forgotten the meaning of peace. Neon lights, once a symbol of life, flickered like dying stars, casting the streets in an unnatural, sickly glow. Skyscrapers, now skeletal remains, loomed overhead, hollowed out by time and neglect. The air smelled of smoke and decay, with the hum of malfunctioning machines reverberating through the night—like the pulse of a dying world.

People moved like ghosts. Faces were blank, eyes hollow, haunted by a reality that had long crushed any semblance of hope. No one spoke of it—no one dared. There were whispers in the shadows, of something darker, something other, but acknowledging it was to invite its touch. And then, there were the Visitors.

Where they came from, no one knew. Some said they were beings from beyond the stars, sent to cleanse the world of its sins. Others believed they were agents of a corrupt government, now turned monstrous. But what was universally feared wasn’t the origin of the Visitors—it was their arrival.

The hum was the first sign. A slow, rhythmic thrum that cut through the night, low and unnerving, like the heartbeat of something far too powerful. The drones followed. Black, insect-like machines, buzzing overhead, scanning the streets with cold precision. They didn’t just search for the guilty; they found them. And when they did, it was always the same.

The city held its breath when the Visitors came.

At first, there was silence—a complete, unnatural stillness that seemed to suck the life from the air. The usual sounds of the streets, the distant cry of vendors, the murmur of conversations—all vanished. The people looked up in fear, knowing what came next. A flash of light, blinding and sharp, streaking across the sky. And then, just as quickly, the shadow would fall.

The Visitors were never seen clearly. Only their ships, hovering above, casting long, unnatural shadows on the cracked streets. The drones, with their hollow, glowing eyes, would descend, as silent as death itself. And then, the abductions would begin.

They didn’t take everyone. No, they were careful. They were selective. They didn’t need to act quickly. It was always done with cold, calculated precision. They didn’t need to grab the whole person—just a piece of them. The drones would come down, silent and swift, pulling their victims into the dark with terrifying strength. The screams were always short, choked, swallowed by the silence of the city. And then, nothing.

Gone.

Vanished.

The people left behind never spoke of it. They didn’t have to. The Visitors didn’t just take bodies; they erased the truth. They took the secrets of the lost, the hidden things—the lives that had strayed too far, the memories that couldn’t be allowed to remain. The people didn’t die. They faded. They were erased from the world, their names never spoken again, their faces never remembered.

And with each disappearance, the city slipped closer to its end. The streets grew quieter. The shadows grew darker. The Visitors knew how long they would continue their work, but the people? They were left to wonder.

Comprised of 4 technical achievements propped up by a persistent underlying quality this is Quartz demonstrating a raw yet refreshing sound we can promise a lot more of in the coming years. Key elements of Quartz's character have seen him develop a relationship with Goldie who has been ever-present in both refining his technique and carving out a new journey that doesn't comprise in the slightest. Also featuring Artilect on 'Folding Water', the 'Coercion EP' is a fantastic reflection of Quartz's intricate approach to making music the way he wants to.
