Submoon aka Alesandro Tasso is a passionate producer and DJ from southern Italy.

Since 2007 his love for the Techno sounds of Dub and 90s Detroit has allowed him to experiment and express his passion as a self-taught producer releasing on record labels such as Ranges, Etui Records and Vuo records.

In 2014 he joined the Sound Department crew, spreading his idea of Dub/Techno music in one of the most active clubs in southern Italy.

In recent years he has also participated in a local collective that organizes parties articulated by different thoughts about the various possibilities that art can tell through sound, drawing, photography but also and especially perception. The culmination of everything started in 2019 with the party called "Forma," and then turned into a reality in 2021 with “Salotto Elettronico”  that is still held every Sunday at Mercato Nuovo (Taranto). During this summer he also had the chance to play at “Redrum" in collaboration with Sound Department (Taranto).

From 2016 to now he is behind the scenes of several electronic music projects, as well as curator of the record label Ranges together with his friends as well as label owners Hydergine and Kaelan/2030.

Over the years it has had the opportunity to warm up with artists such as: Marco Zenker, Fluxion, Peter Van Hoesen, Paula Temple, Shxcxchcxsh, Aril Brikha, Domenico Crisci, Stephanie Sykes, Headless Horseman, & More ....

Another great guestmix was put on the table recently. Someone I didn't recogniced before, but so happy he reached out to me: The Silentist.

This artist is a vinyl collector and DJ from the South West of France, based in Amsterdam since 2017. With a deep love for records that span many genres. And this mix showcases a wide range of music of his very favourite — dub techno.

Some personal words from the artist about this selection: "Spanning over more than three decades of the genre, the set opens with a 1994 classic and closes with a fresh record from 2025, tracing a sonic arc through dub techno's evolution. The Silentist for MLD

had so much fun  i had the opportunity to play a DJ set (digitally) on the Superpower Soundsystem from @berlindubcafe at @superbooth_berlin . Such a nice atmosphere it was!

I knew the Sooper Corner stage from my last attendances as a guest, an area to chill and take a breath in the mids of gear tents, performances and expert presentations. so  I wanted to play a nourishing, calming and energising set. Something for the soul. 

My controller recorded it reliable and comfortable,  ready to upload straight away  to my SoundCloud Channel,  where you can listen back now.

And at this point another hint concerning the MLD compilation 2025 with the anonymous artists what you find on bandcamp (check Sai-MLD) many of the artists who produced a track for it will play a set at the festival.  So everything is connecting and each topic leads to a next one. Like an organic path. The way I prefer to create. The way people and things get involved.
