With this extreme sound statement titled ‘Facing The Absurd’, Nekyia and FossaDelRumore aimed to
express a common point of view on what we all call reality, probably a standpoint shaped by their life in the
magnificent yet creatively arid city of Firenze, while experimenting with sound as they have always been
doing during their long-lived collaboration. Let’s face the irrationality of things, the lack of meaning of an
alienating life, the limits of human condition; and let’s embrace this condition with a new inner quiet, shifting
the focus on the beauty around and within us, with perception as a source of inspiration and personal
improvement. The chase of a chimerical meaning keeps still making perfectly sense for us as transient
individuals. ‘Facing The Absurd’ is a dark collection of absurdist theories written through the meeting of
modular noise, post-industrial and bass music-infused techno explorations, with a multi-tempo
improvisational approach and subtle tributes to extreme music scenes.

Holding a modern vision while using both older concepts and technologies his works are crafted based on hardware sound exploration, the use of chaotic, generative systems and audio processing with emphasis on spatial cue.

Looking into composition more In a way of a conversation between the electronic systems and himself where he is both composer and listener at the same time to let shine the beauty of these machines different behaviours and the sonic quality of the sound itself.

The EP commences with the climactic yet ethereal sounds that encapsulate the opening track titled ‘The Sun’, an aura of suspense that is accentuated yet further by the phantasmal and discordant sounds in the second track titled ‘Atonal’. The third track titled ‘Polymorph’ stands out due to its elusive overtones, whilst ‘Inner Nature’ is enshrouded in a mesmeric contrast of industrial and acidic sounds. ‘Lightyears’ embodies an anarchic amalgamation of cacophonous acidic drones, whilst the penultimate track titled ‘Nazare’ manifests a sonorous bassline. Concluding the EP with its disorienting undertone and commanding bassline is the final track titled ‘No Earth’.

An experimental rework made for my friend Mari Safir @marisafir, featuring lyrics from her latest release "God". 

Started as a usual techno remix, this work led to the idea of making a completely new poetic text from the original vocals, amplified by stripped-down arrangement and playing with the sense of time. Written in the spring of 2022, laid low until the last months, waiting for us to give it a life. A foreshadow of longing which was yet to come then.
