Atmosphere 004 by ANDËR

The inspiration to create this EP started on my bike. A lot of the time when I am on my bike I see the city scene as a part of a movie I'm in.

Imagine cycling through a grey, foggy city, the air cool and damp against my face. The world around me is softened, blurred by the thick fog, and everything feels muted, as if the city is holding its breath. The towering buildings loom like silhouettes, their outlines barely visible through the mist, giving the streets an eerie quietness, broken only by the rhythmic hum of your bicycle tires on the wet pavement. (and the rattle of an old chain)

As I pedal through the narrow cobbled streets, I pass by closed cafés with fogged-up windows and flickering streetlights casting weak halos through the haze. The occasional sound of distant footsteps echoes in the distance, as pedestrians wrapped in scarves and coats move slowly, their movements shrouded by the fog. Cars move cautiously, their headlights piercing the mist like weak beacons.

The trees lining the streets, their bare branches reaching into the grey sky, appear ghostly. Leaves, wet and heavy, hang from the limbs, adding to the sense of stillness in the air. The canals that runs through the city, hidden behind a wall of fog, mirrors the quiet calm of the city—its surface smooth and reflective, disturbed only by the occasional ripple of a passing boat, early tourists or cyclist.

I cycle past old brick buildings with ivy creeping up their walls, the colors of the bricks subdued by the fog. The fog swirls around the edges of windows, and you catch glimpses of life inside—faint shadows moving behind curtains, dim lights flickering on and off as people go about their quiet morning routines.

The city feels almost timeless, like it’s holding a secret that only those who are awake in the stillness of the morning can understand. The sound of your bike’s wheels on the pavement and your steady breathing are the only things that anchor you in this tranquil, dreamlike version of the city.

As I pass through the heart of the city, you catch the occasional glimpse of life: a barista opening the café door, steam rising from a cup of coffee in a passerby’s hand, the faint chatter of people talking quietly in the distance. The city moves slowly in the fog, each person a part of this serene, quiet symphony—a delicate dance of life within the embrace of the mist.

The fog wraps around everything, diffusing the light, making the world feel smaller and more intimate. Everything is blurred, yet somehow clearer in its stillness, and I find myself lost in the beauty of the moment, cycling through the grey, foggy city where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

"True Out of Brew" is an EP stating Denis's current situation: being accused of a crime he didn't commit. The title track 'True Out of Brew' fills the A-side of the record with a clear message that Denis is a musician at heart, while 'From the Best Sources' is the last track he created just before his equipment was taken from him upon arrest. Denis used his own voice in both tracks, making this a very personal, career-defining EP. As usual, both tracks are long excursions familiar to those following Denis's creative output."
